I just spent about 3 hours here and there, playing through a Buy In mode.. I almost opted out with the Mortal mode with a highscore by getting Pandoras Box 2 times without continuing... But I noticed that I had 9 credits and said.. Im gonna go for it! and my Buy In High Score is the one to beat. Let me know if anyone out there gets even close to this number.!!!

My High Scores:
Buy In : 38,935,100
Top Mortal : 15,708,640 (I had like 20mil when i opted the buy in!!! oh well)
Top Daily : 3,211,960

I also figured out the Ultra Jackpot .. You must get medusas ball into the siren multiball mode. once you get 3 ramps, voice over will say, "Get the Super Jackpot", but,, if you can shoot the Medusa stone ball into the Temple Saucer, they will say, "Get the Ultra Jackpot" then all you have to do is hit it up the Olympus Ramp after it shoots across. But there will be no magnet so you must be very good at that shot!
I still have yet to defeat Zeus's Challenge though.. Kudos to that person that did. I got 10/12 and usually end up losing the ball altogether!.. crazy frustration follows.

You've got some pretty high scores. I think mine went like this

Buy-In 3,300,000
Mortal 2,250,000
Daily 850,000

I'm really bad at Zeus' Challenge. Think I had 4/12 via a fluke once. Good work on cracking the ultra jackpot!

I'm still loving this game, too. Its so great to see so many people still playing it as well. I think it's time for a full DS cart release or installment 2 in the Pinball Pulse series!

I really hope a Japanese publisher picks this up. Pinball Attack is fun, but it's not proper pinball like this. Very jealous of you guys!

Pinball Pulse is a good game, but I'm awful at it. I need more practice...........

Okay I have to post this!!

I just played about 5 hours straight with breaks here and there and got a new buy in highscore.

93million! i really really wanted to break the 100million mark. Has anybody done that?
I believe I have figured out how to rack up some big points.
before you achieve/unlock the Pandora's Box, make sure you get a lot of Lighning Bolts from Zues and Hera's Apples. I believe the # of apples determines how long the box will stay opened and the Bolts will determine how many points you will receive for each ramp/target with a white bold during Pandoras Box event. I collected about 30-40 apples which gave me like 150 seconds and about the same amount of bolts which made each ramp/target worth 500,000!!!!! seriously..
Next, try to get 4 out of the 5 balls into the box and then, keep that last ball out so that you can focus on it and really rack up the point. make sure you dont shoot that ball into the box or else it just ends the event and you collect your due bonus of a million added to the points you racked up. Best thing to do if you ever get 500,000 per ramp/target, is to let time run out even if you dont get that last ball in.. because with just 2 targets, you have already made up for that final million. now 500,000 was the higher end of a pandoras box bolt bonus, but regularly i tend to get about 125,000 per ramp.. in that case, shooting the last ball before time runs out makes sense.

There are so many nuances to this solid pinball game that I would love to really find out all the secrets of it. If anyone else has discovered anything amazing. please let me know!. btw, I have YET to defeat Zeuses challenge!! haha

Did that score make the amount of points required to earn another credit skyrocket?

Just got this yesterday, and I love it! I'd forgotten how much I love pinball. When I found out this was made by the same guys who made Space Cadet on Windows XP, I decided I needed this game. There's so much surprising depth to the gameplay. One table is definitely enough for 500 points with all the challenges and variety it provides. I'm looking forward to more Pinball Pulse games soon!

My buy-in high score is 7,021,402 while my top mortal is a little over 1,000,000. Hey, I'm still new after all. Proud of the 7M score though, I used 7 credits for that. Still haven't seen a lot, like Pandora's Box and Zeus' Challenge.

It's the pinball game which comes free on Windows XP. It was quite a time sink for me and my friends, you see.

Hmm, I can't remember where I read it, but I'll look up whether it's by the same development studio. The same people made Metroid Prime Pinball too, right?

EDIT: So I looked in to Fuse Games, the developer. They didn't work on Space Cadet (but still the tables and physics have some similarities), and the only games they worked on before are Mario Pinball Land (GBA) and Metroid Prime Pinball. Previously, under a different name, they made the Pro Pinball series - 4 in all, on various platforms e.g. Playstation and Dreamcast. This is all from Wikipedia (don't have the URL since I'm posting on my DSi).

Since this is the first (and only) game they've done since MPP, I hope they continue making more pinball games for DSiWare!

Been really wanting to get this one since it dropped in the states. Just didnt know if 500points for one pinball table was worth it. With all of my fellow N.lifers really lovin' this one, I think ya got me. I may get this if whenever I get all "perfects" on StarShip Defense. Since they both take up almost the same amount of blocks seems like this game would be the perfect reward for that achievement.

lol cheapo, for a moment there I thought you just quoted my post without saying anything. Seemed ominous... I almost have all perfects in Starship Defense too (been taking my time with it).

Trust me, you're gonna be going back to this game again and again to figure out its secrets and to beat your scores. I thought the quests seemed simplistic and all very similar until I actually tried them... darn, they're really hard to finish, and they all have different requirements! The easiest is probably Icarus, you just have to get the ball up the Olympus ramp... but if you get the ball up other ramps or the orbits then he flies closer to the sun. It's quite thrilling. And Siren Multiball is the bomb. Anyone notice there are magnets under the board on the left and right that flicker on and off during Siren Multiball? So cool and useful.

Oh, and not many people have talked about the dot matrix at the top of the screen - it's phenomenal. Nice 3D graphics, text and effects which tell you what's going on and what to do. And the voice acting (Zeus, Hera, the siren, Medusa) is all really good and quite amusing too. This game is top-notch.

I just got this 2day it looks great but I am totally confused because I have never played pinball b4. This seems hardcore 2me but it oozes quality so it should have legs. Where can I get a newbies guide to pinball?
buy in 1M normal .5M

This game is great I've gotten better at it, but still nothing to compare to most people.

Mortal high score: about 1.2 million (I think)
Buy in high score: about 1.4 million (I've only bought in once for 2 extra tries)

I think it's complicated to explain. Perhaps pick something specific from the manual and ask a question about that? My basic strategy is to collect gifts of the gods first and avoid centering the ball (centering the ball seems to lead to death pretty often.)

@Scarecrow: You've never played any pinball before? Well, you use the flippers around the table to keep the ball in play. If the ball drops to the bottom of the table, you lose it and your score is kept for the next ball. You get 3 balls. If your ball goes to special areas - like up ramps or around the orbit at the top - or hits special things - like bumpers and saucers - then you get more points. Your aim is to get the highest score possible using the 3 balls you are given. That's gist of the game.

Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon is quite a complex pinball table though. You can get a good score without knowing about the special table-specific things like quests and Gifts of the Gods, but I'd recommend after you get the basic idea of pinball you should read the manual to learn more about the table itself. Every pinball table is different so the specific details of the table don't apply to other pinball tables you might play.
