So a few years ago I've been playing some DS games and I've played one game that I completely do not remember except for the deep feeling it left after completing it. I know it doesn't sound like much but I did remember some little stuff. I do believe you were saving a village the entire game from some kind of corruption (maybe?). I don't remember ANY of the characters but I do believe that in the end there were a scene where you eather died or there was some kind of soul-leaving-the body thing where everyone died (whole village) but it was in a good way (something like it was meant to be, or they just had to do it, wasn't type of ending when everything went in flames and hell), finishing with just screen going completely white and music w/ credits rolling. I don't remember it because I am a pretty hardcore gamer, playing on PC mostly. And when you play tons of games you tend to forget some lol. But today I had a conversation with a friend of mine about old school games and something reminded me of this game. Now I'm obsessed with finding that game's title. Thanks in advance!

what time period was it?

Was Mariobro4. No, I'm not taking off my backpack...it's important.

If you mean in-game then I think it was fantasy, Zelda-ish times

The "defending a village from corruption" thing makes me think of Drawn to Life, but the rest of it doesn't sound familiar. Then again, that was my sister's game and I played that years ago.

YES! Thank you very much! I think it was the second part or something. It looked like a silly game but the ending was truly darker than anticipated.

@LeMaestro: Yeah, it seems it was the second game. I've only played the first, but I'm glad I could help.
