So far they've only ever put Nintendo GB games on sale, although they've had 3rd party 3DS games on sale, so there might not be any agreements in place for that.

Zelda DX was on sale in the UK

I'd second what iphys has said, probably only going to get sale items on Nintendo first party titles.

Gargoyles Quest is a really good game, well worth the asking price. It's quite tough at the start of the game, but the additional powers that Firebrand gets later on make it more manageable.

Oh I know how great Gargoyles Quest is. After watching a review of it by the Happy Video Game Nerd, I've been wanting to play it. I'll probably end up getting it in a week or so. Right now I'm knee deep in Phantasy Star Portable 2 and getting Cooking Mama 4 (yes Cooking Mama) from Gamefly this week.

Anyone think Tumble Pop (Luigi's Mansion's Ancestor) Or Adventure Island 1 are great buys?

Sow how's that Whimsical and Cutesy poopsy' TripWorld? Too bad there's absolutely no gnarly release date in sight for a US release, because 'it' along with Metroid II are the only other VC titles i plan on picking up when the time is right. B-) Man, you know you're a gamer when you start getting irritated when you haven't gamed for a month and a half. I tested myself to see if I wouldn't care, but i truly do. :p

Have there not been any releases on eShop recently that interest you? I ask because you mentioned your gameless month & a half.

Not VC, but the recently released Bomb Monkey seems to have that retro vibe you're always looking for. I haven't played it, though.

At least with 8-bit summer starting this Thursday, your appetite should be sated :)

There are tons of titles that interest me, be it on the Wii, VC, 3DS, 3DS VC, 3DSWare ect ect. hell I've got 4 unplayed 3DS titles and 7 Wii games in my collection. There is always a game i want to play. But right now I'm just finishing up my place decoration wise. I'm so OCD to the point where everything has to be a certain way especially before i game, it's just gotta feel right. :p Waiting for my new Plasma to arrive, painting is almost done and yadah yadah, then i'll finally dive into my 3DS again. With Super Mario 3D Land being the first on the list, with Pikmin 2 and Steel Diver after that. :D

As for Nintendo's bodacious 8-Bitty' summer >

•The Legend of Zelda (NES) - July 5
•Kirby's Pinball Land - July 12
•The Sword of Hope II - July 12
•Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters - July 19
•Tumblepop - July 19
•Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 - July 26
•Sonic Blast
•Sonic Labyrinth

I've already played and finished Wario Land & Kid Icarus: OMAM a few months ago on my GB. Couldn't care less for anything sonic related, and i've played TLOZ to death as i have it on the NES and Wii VC already. Nothing else really spikes my interest....Especially anything 'pinball' related. :p

Haven't played the 'GB" version of Double D, but ya i definitly think FZ is worth checking out. Think of it as a blend of Metal Gear, Commando with a tiny splash of Legend of Zelda. Suprisingly i had a pretty good time with it to the point where i didn't want to put it down. It may be a semi nice subsitute until Contra: Operation C finally blasts on the 3DS's VC...Which is easily one of the best Contra games around even if it does borrow heavily from Contra II: Super C. :p

Definitely get Wario World and Gargoyle's Quest. The latter may not have the replayability of KI: oMaM but it's just an amazing GB game.
Donkey Kong, Mario's Picross, Kirby's Pinball Land are definitely recommended as well. Bionic Commando too, but i haven't played the NES version, that might be superior.

So, how's Avenging Spirit? I may have enough left in my eShop account to purchase it, after SML2 and TLoZ: LA DX go on sale and SML3 arrives.

Avenging Spirit is a fun game. Tough as nails, but fun. Be prepared to abuse those restore points/save states.

Super Mario Land 2 if you're looking for a lengthy GB experience. It's quite fun and will last you a while.
Trip World if you're looking for an innovative platformer that is very charming, but a short game overall.
Mega Man: Wily's Revenge if you're looking for an awesome platformer (quite challenging - and the length is still alright [6 levels - 10 bosses].)
Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for the longest 15+ hour experience available yet, with great gameplay and a nice story.

I make Pixel Art on occasion.

Yeah, if you like most of the classic Mega Man games i don't see why you shouldn't have a lot of fun with the GB game. I sure did and thought it's about as good as the NES games.
If you like puzzle games Catrap certainly is one to consider. I haven't got back to it since Pullblox aka Pushmo came out but it really was fun so far. I should be about halfway through and it's gotten quite challenging. While there are differences it kinda felt like Toki Tori to me.
And if you like very simple but challenging games that are easy to pick up and play look no further than Game & Watch Gallery 2.
