Considering some pretty good deals on the eShop right now, I picked up a few new games
Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition
Demon King Box
Resident Evil Revelations
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
I WAS going to get Street Fighter Alpha 2 as well, but apparently it's for New 3DS only. I've never really played a Monster Hunter game, except for the free demo on 3DS, actually. I can't say I enjoyed it much, but there's clearly something about it that people love, so for $5, I thought Id' start from the beginning and give it a chance.
Yeah Monster Hunter demos are...kinda bad. They should really just do it where you can play the first couple of hours of the game or something instead, the MH Stories games did this.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
@Gryffin Monster Hunter games is bad experience without the second circle pad. You have mentioned that you don't have a New 3ds so you shall get a circle pad pro for the OG 3ds if you have that model to fully enjoy the game.
Is this the new "What 3DS games did you buy?" thread? I thought there was an older one, but I'm fine with using this one too.
I picked up both Kirby's Dream Land and Kirby's Dream Land 2 on the 3DS VC and hope to play them both over the weekend. I'm trying to properly step into the Kirby series after immensely enjoying Kirby Superstar on the SNES Classic a couple years back. I also picked up and played Kirby's Adventure but admittedly haven't touched other titles in the series since. Though I have both Kirby Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot backlogged, I want to work through some of the better classic titles like the above first as I'm told the series has (for the most part) improved over time.
...Technically I've played the first game via Spring Breeze in Kirby Superstar, but I felt it would be fair to give the game that started it all a proper go.
Currently playing: Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Switch), Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations (Switch)
Digital: Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy - The only mainline Layton game I was missing barring the Layton vs. Phoenix Wright crossover. Unfortunately, digital is the only way to go at this point as even used/loose, the game is very expensive. From what I've been able to find online, it didn't have much of a print run in North America. I hope to dive into this one before long since I played through the previous two games within the last few months.
Physical: Tales of the Abyss - An early 3DS release that never had a digital release to my knowledge. I paid a bit of a premium for this one (loose/used) after quite a bit of shopping around, so the price wasn't as bad as it could have been. I've yet to play a Tales game but hope to dive into the series starting with either this or Tales of Vesperia on the Switch. I've read both games are excellent.

@Screen I suppose it was an awkward release... Being on a console with a little bit of mario rpg oversaturation, that already had access to the original edition, and was reaching the end of it's lifespan, during a time when people were a bit disillusioned with the mario rpgs due to a perceived decline in originality, and when people were mostly waiting for the remakes to move to the next console instead (the switch).
It probably doesn't help that the remake is apparently slightly slower overall, and the additions to it are not all that attractive.
In other news I got Persona Q2 now that it's very discounted.
Figured I'd pick up the last few Picross games I didn't have on 3DS since it might be the last time they go on sale before the eShop closes. Got Picross e6, e7, e8 and Sanrio Characters Picross
Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam arrived in the mail yesterday. This means I have the entire series accessible via my 3DS (Partners In Time via backwards compatibility; I still wonder why this was never rereleased since it could've used the remaster treatment). It'll be a bit before I get to the game. I still need to play both Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey and Dream Team. I know there's very little continuity between the games, but I may as well do things properly.
I picked up both Pokemon Yellow and Pokemon Crystal off the VC. I have them physical, but one cart no longer saves and who knows how long the other will last lol. I also downloaded Stretchmo, did the tutorial section, and then went ahead and bought the bundle for all packs.

I got Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks from the Wii U eShop a few days back. Mainly because I never had them on the DS, so they are brand new Zelda games to me. I made it through the first dungeon in PH too.
@Kermit1 Believe me, I'm expecting some of the later puzzles to be quite challenging. I don't expect to finish them all TBH, but I'm at least going to give most of them a proper try. The only thing I'm mildly irked about is that in-app purchases apparently don't count towards the My Nintendo gold point total. Presumably because Stretchmo is technically a free download.
