I loved the Superstars saga, and now that I have a 2DS I would like to play another installment.

I mean, I would buy all 3 if I am made of money. Unfortunately that is not the case.

I know 'Bowser's inside Story' is outdated, but it seems to have a higher rating compared to the latter two.

So which one do you think should I pick up? Could you cite the ups and downs of each one. I would certainly be grateful.

I'll admit I haven't played the 3DS ones and haven't finished Bowser's but based on all I've heard; Bowser's Inside Story is perhaps your best bet.

To put it simply, it was the last one of the M & L RPGs to have an interesting story that wasn't just a "Bowser-Peach-Kidnap-Again" story. Many people felt they fleshed out Bowser rather nicely as you play as him for a significant portion of the game.

I played Inside Story and Paper Jam. Paper Jam's main villain is Bowser, which is a huge surprise, so it's clearly the best choice if you like original storylines (sarcasm!). Inside Story is funny, mostly because Bowser is playable, and he has hilarious dialogue. Never played Dream Team.

Bower's Inside Story is the second best game in the series after Superstar Saga. Forget about it's age, definitely give it a go. It was made in the middle of the DS era, where Nintendo could splash the cash on games because they knew it would sell. The 3DS games feel sort of stripped back in comparison (although nowhere near as much as what happened to the Paper Mario games).

No question that Inside Story is the best game overall. But I will say that Paper Jam has the deepest amount of customization for your characters, if that's what you're looking for in an RPG.

Alone, a force. Together, a force of nature.

Ended up picking Bowser's Inside Story and I'm not disapointed. Although I expected to control Bowser and the Bros. simultaneously.
