I can see the possibility of Nintendo phasing out the original 3DS design and replacing it with something else. People hate those weird touch buttons it has for start/select, and it has that slight issue of the bottom screen scratching the top (or so i hear? (i have the XL)). Maybe make the build quality a bit better, make it look a little more stylish. I can see that happening.

Yeah, a 3DS lite. Or a 3DS +/Pro. If it comes in different colours (like light blue or orange) I'm sold!

I will update this when Half Life 3 arrives. [Started 17/11/2015]

Why would they make a new OS for one model? That makes no sense at all

cough DSi cough
Anyway, it would be cross-platform! (3DS family and Wii U)!

Oh right, DSi. How could I forget that system...oh wait

Cross-platform for VC games maybe. I can't see any other point of cross-platform

I doubt they will (three models per generation tends to be the norm for Nintendo handhelds), but if they did, I wouldn't buy it. Already have a 3DS and 3DS XL, don't need another one (I had no interest in the 2DS when it was released).

DS --> DS lite, DSi, DSi XL.....that's more than three(including original).

3DS --> 3DS XL, 2DS...still have room for that third 'extra' before the end of the gen. Hmmmm

Anyway, in the UK I never see the original 3DS in ads, T.V or Mags. I don't know why, and that's why I think there will be a new 3DS. Heck, the 3DS original isn't even in the Argos catalogue!
