Okay, so I was using my 3ds and it was working great, and then I put it into sleep mode to get street passes. When I open it back up, none of the buttons or touch screen will work. The display is working fine.
I just pressed the b button and it opened up animal crossing. I pushed the a button to start game, and it worked, but then when i tried to hit continue, it wouldn't work. Nor would the touchscreen. But the home button and power buttons are still working flawlessly?
Could someone please help me? I am currently on vacation in Melbourne, Australia, so is there anywhere I can take it?
Thank you, I really appreciate your help.

You need to power on the system before the buttons will work. Try staying at Punt Hill apartments corner of Swanston street and Flinders Lane. It's a nice spot in the middle of the city... Just remember to park your car in the right underground car park otherwise it is a pain trying to get back out again

But you can try taking it to Nintendo HQ Melbourne on Stud Road... I always passed that big building on my way to work at Toshiba HQ

Ah okay. We are staying closer to the city, and don't have a car, (it'll take 6 hours to walk there according to Google maps) so is it really worth going there? I guess I could hop in a cab if I need to. Otherwise will EB games be able to have a look at it for me?

Don't go to EB games because they will try and sell you a PSVita and we don't want to go through that now do we... Give Nintendo HQ a call and see what they say

Obviously not now though because it is 11:00 pm on a friday night... Try tomorrow morning bro

i had the same problem, none of my buttons or touchscreen would work. then i made a repair and waited two weeks (didn't send it because of money issues) and then did the next update and all of sudden it was working again. i have no clue what the hell happened. but my XL works fine now.
