So I was playing my New 3DS going through my backcataloge of downloads when suddenly, when trying to load Comic Workshop the game said it there was not enough space on the SD Card, which there's plenty. I exited then reloaded the game but then it said it could not find my SD Card. When I exited the game, the screen went black and when it reloaded, my New 3DS said it could not find my Micro SD Card and everything downloaded was gone.
After reinserting my Micro SD card a few times, it still came up with the same message and look in the settings found nothing. I took the card out and tried to use it in my laptop (My laptop has no Micro SD slot so I use a USB device that lets me do so) but it can't find the SD card either. I've looked online for help, but all I can find is advice to reformat the card but I cannot since well, the Micro SD Card does not to seemingly even work now.
So before I have to resort to rebuying ANOTHER Micro SD Card, is there any advise at all that mighnt help? I get it that my save data is probably all gone (Though thankfully I still have a back up on my laptop from when I transferred everything from my old XL to my New 3DS back in Feb, so that would only be the last 7 months lost I take it?) and that I can redownload everything from the eShop, but there's nothing I can do to revive my Micro SD Card is there? Also regarding Comic Workship, is this a common technical flaw with the game? Should I avoid it if it's likely to blow up my Micro SD Cards again or is this all down to the card?
@Smitherenez: No. I transferred everything over to the micro SD Card via Nintendo's transfer process when I got my New 3DS. I cannot reformat it as I explained, the laptop can't even detect it.
Ok, I haven't run into this problem myself with the 3DS. So that was the only thing I could come up with It helped me with other media storages in the past. Maybe someone else on the forum knows. Maybe you should ask nintendo?
@Smitherenez: I suppose. I figured I'd ask you guys first since you know, real people have either this experience or know what to do and are quicker and more direct then waiting on a Nintendo Rep who'll probably won't get back to me till Monday. @_@
@Darth_Vader: I have terrible telephone skills so I just dropped them an email explaining the situation in full. Till they reply, I'll just rely on any advise anyone else on here or other places I've posted might reply with. @_@
Can anyone recommend a card that you think might be more reliable and the same size (I'm not doing the 64GB trick, certainly not after this.) or should I just got with the newer model of this card that Amazon lists?
For format the SD card you could try (if you didn't already) to check if the pc at least see the storage in the Disk management.
The Disk management should allow to see any storage unit attached to the pc, even if they are not visible or read in the usual way, and you can even format the card from there. To be fair however, I used this method only for find disks that were not visible cause of how they were formatted (for example hard disks modified by a Wii U are visible on a computer only with the Disk management to my knowledge), but I never tried to search a damaged memory unit.

Tried that and it still was not visible.
I don't believe it is a fake as it was ordered from Amazon and not a third party seller, and looked exactly like the pic.
But damn for a single game to screw up my card this badly. @_@ Makes me wish Nintendo just stuck with regular SD.....
My daughter's regular SD card messed up too and I had to replace it and it was the one that came with the system so it's not just micro SD cards that can be corrupted.
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword
Also is all my Pokemon Shuffle and Rumble World Sava Data/Progress gone or is that saved differently being a Micro-transaction game and all?
If you have the client numbers for those games, then Nintendo should be able to help you recover your save data if your micro SD card is in fact, corrupted.
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
@sillygostly: Darn, I don't. Surly if I redownload the game using the same Nintendo ID and console when I get my new Micro SD, they should be able to recognize it right? @_@
