Anyways, yup, I'm looking forward to this too, $30 or not. I gotta try out the 3D in a Dungeon Crawler before I play Etrian Odyssey and Soul Hackers.

Isn't the psp version out already? Uuuugh, c'mon eShop.
Anyone happen to have played the game and want to give impressions?

A sequel titled Unchained Blades Exiv is currently in development and scheduled for release on October 21, 2012 for the Playstation Portable and Nintendo 3DS.

That sucks it's digital only. If I'm going to pay as much as a physical game, I want the option of buying it physical.
(the only digital game I paid that much for is Hexyz Force for PSP, and that's only because since it went out of print, physical prices went up even higher)

I am really looking forward to this too. A fan of the Etrian Odyssey Series and this looks like it shakes up the genre a bit. Also, a big focus on the story can't hurt. It's $30 on PSN and I'd gladly pay that price for eShop. I just hope it gets released soon. I'd hate it if Nintendo made us wait until NSMB2 was released digitally till we get this game just for the sake of their game being a full digital release first

If it takes awhile to get here, I doubt it'll be because of NSMB2. Order Up! is a retail title as well, that got a digital only release in the States (It's retail in EU, Like Unchained Blades is in Japan).

Is this game only being released in the US or are the other regions getting it too?

XSeed is publishing it in the U.S., but I don't know if they operate in EU & AUS or not.

I've never been much of an anime person, but this game looks extremely interesting so maybe I'll give it a shot. But if it's price high and I don't like it, I want a refund.

Nah I ain't buying. There's plenty of games out there way cheaper and better than this. If they ever cut the price in half i'll consider it. Sorry guys but 3ds retail games are 39.99. $10 less for digital is unacceptable for me.

There's no point in saying that, as if they're going to release a retail version, they confirmed as it being digital only, well at least the english version. I thought everyone knew that already, colour me surprised, Well if you don't like it don't buy it. I'm hoping it gets a release out in PAL regions, but seeing as we don't know if xseed publishes out here, that is going to be impossible to know.

Yo bro I know there is no retail. But i'm practically paying the same amount of cash for a digital download. I really was hooked with this game, I created this thread! lol. But it's waaaay to expensive. If you want to get it, fine by me. Your money is your hard earned money, I earn $7.25 an hour, sooo yeah i'll have to work 5 hours to play something I wont literally own.

The most i've spent is $15 on a PSN game Marvel vs Capcom 2 and then Street Fighter 3. I regreted MvC2 cause of no single player mode nor training mode, that sucked....

But yeah more than that, never will even if it's a 10/10 classic. It just feels empty to me really.

This is also a full-fledged game being brought to the States by a small publisher. Why is $30 too much? Also, you don't technically "own" a physical copy either. You are not free to do as you please with a physical copy, so aside from a piece of plastic with electronics inside there's no difference between physical and digital copies.
