I used my 3DS as an alarm clock with the Super Mario Clock DSi-program. Suddenly, when I woke up this morning the upper screen showed no picture anymore but I can still change brightness. I rebooted the system without any results. Then I tried to adjust the 3D slider, remove the the SD card, turn off and turn on Wi-Fi and so on, but nothing helped.
Have you heard of this problem before?What should I do?! This is horrible. It just passed over the one year warranty.

You should've extended your warranty with club nintendo.

Have you got a club nintendo account? If so register your system and get 3 more months on your warranty.

I'm pretty sure the extension is only 30 days. Unless it's different in other areas.

@Retro_On_TheGo Im in America, and I believe it says 3 months, so thats roughly 90 days, but 30 or 90 is more than enough to send it in to Nintendo for repairs.
Edit: I've double checked Club Nintendo in America and it says 90 days, but I checked @RedBlueSpots profile and it says location is sweden, so you may be right Retro_On_TheGo, 30 for the U.K

I live in Sweden so I didn't get a registration card with my system. Sometimes I get it with the games and I register the game just for fun. And yes, I do have an account.

contacting Nintendo is the only way to fix the problem if your top screen doesn't work anymore.

is Sweden part of the EU? In the European union, all consumer electronics MUST offer a minimum two-year warranty by law.

you don't need a registration card to register your system just the serial number of the console. at least that's how it works in North America. Not sure about Europe

actually the same thing happened to me ! make sure u move ur system away from any magnets and try again. mine was near my laptop when it happened and i didnt think the laptop was the cause. after i moved it away and rebooted it worked fine
