Huh, so it really isn't. People said so, but I didn't really know if that was true. All the reviews saying it was a sequel with a too different art style will look silly now. Hope the real sequel is good.
I'm on my 3DS, so I'm unable to copy & paste links (unfortunately), but if you know Japanese (or at least Katakana), it'll just take you a minute or two to find it on NOJ's website.
Also, I'm sending a couple of screenshots out to my 3DS friends via Swapnote.

Eh, I'll probably be skipping this one. It was alright, but eventually the puzzles that needed to be solved to progress to the next level became too obtuse for me to handle. Unless that changes, I'm fairly certain I'll have other games to keep me occupied until then.
I've played through the first floor (which was practically a tutorial).
As far as graphics go, you're just wandering down hallways, so it's nothing spectacular, but it looks crisp & clear, and the 3D adds a nice layer of depth, so there's noting to complain about.
When in battle, you press the d-pad (any direction, doesn't matter) or the L button to defend, A or X slashes side to side, and B or Y slashes up & down. Enemies give a tell when they're about to strike, so it's best to block & counter.
Just like the first Picdun, you play as an unnamed hero. each of the 3 female characters joins you at various points throughout the adventure (1 is with you at a time), and technically, they're the one's doing the attacking (one has a stronger wide slash than the others, one has a stronger single attack, ect, so whichever one is with you determines how strong certain attacks are). I know that sounds somewhat complicated, but it's not.
So far, it seems like it's going to be enjoyable.

So you don't use the stylus anymore, that's good because I prefer to use the buttons more rather than the stylus I guess because the action takes place on the top screen this time because it's a 3DSWare game and uses the 3D.
got it as well Heads up its a 600 BLOCK download dont ask me why its so freaking big seems its just like the first one
eh, 600 is pretty average size for an eShop title (the Guild 01 titles, Mighty Switch Force!, and others are larger).
Anyhow, I just completed the fifth floor. It's been a pretty good dungeon crawler so far.
I would have played more, but I have a headache, so I'm going to take a break (unrelated to the game, I've had it since waking up).
still though it has to be the 3d effect or something the first one was like 40 blocks and its almost like the first one... i like it too up to floor 4 (like the way you can grind on the floors as well )
needed something to hold me over until tuesday when i get Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan
would of loved it 2 bucks.... 5 seems a little high for it right now
@slidecage - 600 blocks, or 75 MB, is nothing for an eShop download. Fire Emblem: Awakening is about 8,600 Blocks, or about 1.1 GB. The much bigger size over the DSiWare original is probably due to larger audio files (since their of a higher quality and, therefore, bigger), 3D effect/improved graphics/animations, and the engine probably takes up more room as well. If you're running out of room on your SD Card, I'd recommend just getting a bigger one.

got around 15k left on my card was just saying .. i know unchain was like 3800 and loved that game .
@slidecage - So, what't the problem with PicDun 2's size then?
was just giving people a heads up it was 600 blocks... only took me to the 9th floor to figure out what RESTART Means... you can restart the floor if you did not get all of the steps done (cause once you get near the thing that allows you to move to lower floors the floor will lock down meaning you can backtrack.
you do keep whatever exp you gain up to that point so restart just restarts the floor but not your exp .....
Just finished up floor 9. I had started 10, but I took the elevator back to 3, because I somehow missed a tile there my first time through.
If someone wants to get into dungeon crawling RPGs (like Etrian Odyssey or Unchained Blades), but is nervous about their legendary difficulty, I'd suggest downloading this. It gives you a nice feel for the genré, but isn't nearly as difficult as it's brethren.
For example, the Etrian Odyssey IV demo has been more challenging than the entire first 9 floors of this game (of course, both are fun).

Sorry for the triple post, but I figured I'd give one more update.
Just completed floor 20, so I have 40 left to go! According to my Activity Log, I've spent 2:50 on it so far, and I'm going to guess total playtime to complete will be between 9 & 11 hours (lets see how close I am).
