I just saw on Nintendo's official Facebook page that the standard model of New 3DS is headed to the U.S. after all and will be arriving alongside Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer on September 25th. Personally, I'm sill wanting the XL version, but I'm sure a lot of people will be happy with this confirmation. What do you guys think about the news?
This is very good news. I already have the Majora's Mask New 3DS XL, but there are many people who prefer the standard version. I thought it was silly that it wasn't released in America at the same time as the XL version. All the face plates for the New 3DS are really cool, and the colored buttons are cool as well. The standard model is also good for children or other people with small hands.

Please stop making Zelda stuff a tacky gold colour. I am not a drug dealer.

The only one they really got right was the MM 3DS, as it was a nice reflective gold chrome as opposed to the dull-but-with-sparkles of the ALBW 3DS and Skyward Sword wiimote & nunchuck.
To the point where I kinda regret transferring my games to the n3ds... And decided to get a second nnid and added some funds to it to download a few games to my 2ds
So are we just getting that Animal Crossing new 3DS and is it only available in the bundle? I want the SFC version Japan got, that thing is beautiful. Not to mention the bundle is going to cost $220 and although it looks good, I didn't plan on buying the Happy Home Designer game.. If I'm reading it right and assuming a new 3DS should cost ~$170 (I believe that was the price of the regular 3DS), the game and two faceplates are adding $50 to the cost. I may just end up getting a N3DS XL if this is going to be our only option for the smaller size...
edit: it looks like this IS the white 3DS with the SFC colored buttons... nice. I may have to get this but would really prefer to just wait for it to be released standalone.
Kinda useless now since the New 3DS already been released.
Some random dude on Nintendo Life.
Toriel left for a while, so Freaky Fred took over her place!
Not changing this part of the signature until Nintendo announces Super Mario Sunshine 2.

at least it's only $220 in the US. here in Canada the suggested retail price is 269.99, with tax that comes to over $300. I'm not sure if i will be getting even though I really want those cover plates. Crossing my fingers that it will still be available in October, otherwise I will be waiting until they announce another New Nintendo 3DS bundle.
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.

according to google just now, $1 US = $1.32 Canadian, so your price is actually better
I could never go back to the smaller screen. Whenever I play something on my kid's 2DS I feel like I'm playing games through binoculars turned the wrong way.
A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It's jolted by every pebble on the road.
@foodmetaphors: yeah i tried that too. I just didn't think that it would be that much that's all. Essentially it's almost like it's a bundle that you put together yourself at a store. I'm almost tempted just to get the bigger model and say screw it.
