Topic: New 3DS Confirmed for North American Release

I feel the same way. I played a little Animal Crossing on a friend's 3DS, and I had to squint my eyes to even see the screen. I am terribly near-sighted, so the bigger screens are much better for me.

just preordered the animal crossing bundle. it finally showed up on best buy canada's website. any fellow canadians, there's only limited quantities available through best buy.

I know it's a little steep but it's my birthday present to myself and I told my hubby he wouldn't have to buy me a birthday present. I might see next week if I can trade in my iPod either for cash or see how much I get towards the bundle at EB Games. I just preordered it through Best Buy just in case EB Games is sold out. Apparently now EB Games will give you cash for your consoles or mobile devices.

Oh, he'll probably still buy you something. 'Cause we guys are just thoughtful like that.

Buy lots of accessories for the New 3DS. So when it is her birthday and the New 3DS hasn't shipped yet, she will have all these accessories to look at until the New 3DS arrives.

I would have got this during release week if it were available. At this point, I don't care to bother with the transfer process. I've gotten along fine without the New features.

I'm just hoping they'll put the plain white faceplates up somewhere. I love Animal Crossing, but I'd love to have an all-white system.

My birthday isn't until 18th of October so it's more of an early birthday gift and I have 2 cover plates preordered so I'm good. I never ask for much when it comes to presents. I usually just tell him to get me an iTunes card or something. My daughter is more important. Her birthday is two days after mine so she and her brothers are the ones we spoil when it comes to presents.

I find it disappointing that the regular size New 3DS can only be obtained by buying the Animal Crossing bundle. It's like Nintendo wants you to buy Animal Crossing. Still, I'm still getting the bundle because I love the the New 3DS buttons(Nostalgia from SNES days) and the changeable cases.
There's no stopping from Nintendo to make a bundle for the NX launch, though.

At first I was a bit upset about this, but overall I love my New 3DS XL. Just a bit bummed out I'm going to miss out on the faceplates ;~;. Regardless, I've learned I actually prefer the bigger screen size. Now I don't HAVE to wear my reading glasses to play games ( even though I'm well aware I should . )

I'm hoping they carry over the cute cat cases like they had for the regular 3DS XL honestly. The case I have now is cute and all, but I wanted one of those really bad. I saw a few on Amazon but the prices were ridiculous. Hopefully they will go down in price lol...and more colors.

On that note, why did they not do face plates on the New 3DS XL? They knew the XL would sell a bunch more anyway.

Well I guess they could still make bottom face plates for the xl.....

Plus too many people were complaining about it not coming and Nintendo had enough. Plus with this bundle they are testing the waters to see if this will be a big hit like Amiibo or fail. If this bundle sells well, then it proves there's a market for the faceplates. If it doesn't then it proves they were right not release it at launch alongside the bigger model. It all boils down to making money and I, for one,am glad that they waited this long so that I'd actually have the money for it. I just wish it wasn't so expensive here in Canada.
