haha.. I got goosebumbs once the last big monster entered and once the MH theme got in kicking. The visuals are great. Looking forward for this new entry. Just recently started to play MH4U again making dlc-quests to still the wait =)
@DarthNocturnal: Sorry, it took me so long to answer; just got back home. Anyways, I saw a slight amount of symbolism in the ending of this opening. When they were getting their butts handed to them a bit, but then things change when the Nyanta comes blows its horn and the hunters begin using their hunter arts and stuff.
Also; out of the four new title monsters. Tamamitsune is definitely my favorite; it'll feel almost wrong hunting him.

It should be interesting to see some videos of people trying out the Cross demo considering the demo will let you try out all of the weapons with any hunting style you want to use and you can try out the Nyanta mode.
GoNintendo had a post about a new crafting system in this game, which will give you an option of dumping a lot of random resources into new gear or use fewer rare items. All the item grinding was a bit of a turnoff for me, so I must say that X is doing a lot of things to get new players in.

Yeah, some of the drops were ridiculous and I always ended up with a million of useless items. I hope that X will change the way things are in Monster Hunter, because right now some of the mechanics are rather clunky and bring the experience down. There's more stuff to do, but wth the old gameplay style things take more time and get boring in the end.
Dang I hope this game comes out in the west, because it actually looks like something I will enjoy more. Sales in Japan pretty much settle that:

Ohhh I was thinking just Honey and shrooms haha but that's boring too. Bummer I like Nerscylla and her weapons. It also looks like they changed Dinovaldos name.
This looks great, and I'm tempted as hell to get Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for $20 — I haven't played MH since Tri Ultimate on Wii U, and I surely miss it. But everything about this Direct implies that the NX is on the way, and I feel like Monster Hunter is a lock for that — I think I'll hold out.
