Topic: Making Yo-Kai Watch Harder? (Like Nuzlocke with Pokemon)

I don't know if I should've just posted on the Yo-Kai Watch thread, but I felt like it was safe to assume this topic could be it's own thread. Let me know otherwise.

Ever since I first beaten Yo-Kai Watch back in November, I always felt the game was too easy, and a simple set of rules could be set to make the game more difficult. Unfortunately, Pokemon's Nuzlocke rules cannot be implemented into this game easily. Since the second game is coming later this year, I've decided to try and create a completely new set of rules that could match the play-style of Yo-Kai watch better. I call it 'Blizlocke'.

Why Blizlocke? Because I love Blizzaria.

Nothing below is final, it's just me sharing some ideas. Feel free to request modifications, or adding new rules.

-You can only befriend 1 Yo-Kai on each area/dungeon. The first Yo-Kai that asks to join you is the only one you can recruit in that area. The only exception to this is the beginning of the game where you are required to build a team of Six Yo-Kai, so consider this rule active after the Dismarelda fight.

-You can not have two or more Yo-Kai of the same tribe within your active party.

-You are only allowed to buy items until you own 5 of that kind of item. You are free to find and use other items you acquire on the map, but you cannot buy an item you own more than 5 of.

For the most part, I don't think this is too unbalanced, but it can probably use some polish. I think the biggest problem here is that Pokemon Nuzlocke, none of the rules above will get you attached to your Yo-Kai and avoid recklessness quite the same way. I considered Permadeath as a rule, but due to the nature of the game giving enemies a high attack stat, it would be very hard to balance. Any ideas to implement a rule that would create a closer bond to Yo-Kai like Permadeath would I think is a vital key to get this play style to work.
Thoughts?
