@Morphtorok I've had more fun overall in this than in ANB
Sadly, I feel like ANB was the one that got me hooked the longest. Even though the environment here is far more lively (ANB's friggin grass plane still angers me >:[), I still found more things faster. Here, it feels like I'm foraging for very scarce amounts of resources. Where it works for realism, it doesn't impact gameplay in a good way. Plus, many things haven't been introduced as fast yet, and you're once again thrown in the middle of a prosperous community, so you have to be on guard for events in both towns this time. Also, why is Alisa, the only bachelorette I love in this game, so hard to unlock... >_<
Nonetheless, I throughoutly love this game. I wish there was a bit more customization and the option to freely switch between towns (they keep referencing it, but I don't know how).
Also, I might need your help. I have to bring a dessert for spring 15, but I don't have the ingredients. Can you trade with me?
I'm glad you have liked the game I also enjoy it more than ANB.
About Alissa... Alissa started as a normal villager in her first game (IoH), but every single player and their dogs wanted to marry her.... The big problem is the fact that she's a nun. In her next game (SI), she acts as a normal bachelorette, but you can't marry her, never.
In this one she's finally marriageable, but marrying her is incredibly hard to compensate. Consider playing a game to marry her as playing the game in "Insane Mode". Even then, if you do marry her, she won't have any children either... Because she's still a nun.
Abot moving towns.... Just talk to the mayor in their office at the end of the month.
About desserts.... Just mix milk and an egg in a pot. It's the easiest recipe. Unluckily, you can't trade dairy products in this game, only the crops and fruits you grow in the WiFi field.
Oh and yeah, getting things in this game is slower (only one farm upgrade a month, etc), but many other things are way faster compared to ANB... Like picking up things, tending your plants and having your pets move your animals ouside. ANB's gameplay is just so slow x(

I didn't even know she was in SI until I looked it up. Still, Lanna wins in this game (though her personality is a little too capricious for my taste)
She's just a tease in SI, everything indicates she's someone you can get married to... But she'll never accept the blue feather. Hah.
Fogu trolls so hard with her description page XD
Speaking of bachelorettes (and characters in general), is ANB the only HM game featuring no returning characters? (ToTT has Pierre and Alisa, SI has everyone from IoH, etc.) And no, I don't count Harvest Goddess and Witch Princess. It's always implied that they are different incarnations (like Link and Zelda)
TToTT also includes Dirk, Diego, Enrique and Raul who come from HM: Grand Bazzar....
Talking about Grand Bazzar... ANB features Amir from that game the Witch Princess from Harvest Moon DS/IoH/SI.
Actually, it's heavily implied that WP and the HV are the very same people in every game they appear (except in the ones where they're obviously not the same people).
The same Harvest Goddess always appears in games with characters in common, so it's implied it's the same one living in different ponds around the world. That would mean that the HG in TToTT is the actually same one from DS/Friends of Mineral Town, because of linked characters across several games.
@Morphtorok Really? Huh, I didn't know that. I always assumed they were different incarnations. Also, I haven't gotten Amir yet. I have yet to build the inn and recruit Felicity (I regret not looking at the bachelorettes beforehand... T_T)
This game is potentially in the same timeline as FoMT/BTN.
It goes like this...
FoMT/BTN happens the same time as A Wonderful Life.
100 years later happens DS.
Some time later Sunshine Islands (it replaced IoH in my imaginary timeline), Grand Bazzar, TToTT and ANB take place around the same time.
FoMT/A Wonderful Life is connected to DS because it's stated in the game it takes place 100 years after the game (in the japanese version only) and you can see the gravestone of your FoMT/AWL character if you link the game.
DS is connected to SI because several characters from Mineral Town appear in this one, already married and all grown up.
SI, GB, TToTT and ANB happen at the same time not only because several characters from the games appear in other games, but because ANB is kind enough to confirm that with random mail from the other towns talking about the events of their games as if they were happening at that time. (That also means the Mineral Town characters that appear in SI/IoH are the ones from 100 years later, not the original ones).
That means that the same Harvest Goddess and Witch Princess are shared in these games.
This game is amazing. Coming from an HM veteran, it's the best handheld HM I've ever played and nearly the best one overall. I think this game was dismissed by many because of the glitches, which is somewhat understandable, but those who worked around them found a very special game. I'm in the last season of Year 6 and bent on 100-percenting this thing.
By 100 percent I mean all upgrades achieved, all people at maximum flower-ossitude, all recipes and alchemy created, all crops at five stars, all contests won, etc. As far as I know, the GameCube version of A Wonderful Life was the last one that was finite.
