Hello, this is my first post, and as I am on my Dad's iPhone (which has really slow internet), I apologize if I am unable to search for a similar topic.
In the upcoming days, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is going to come out. Me and my friends have decided to get it via e-Shop download, and maybe play for a day or two.
The problem is this. I have a 4gb SD card (all three of us use the Regular 3DS models), and one of my friends has a 32gb SD card. I currently have Sm4sh and Kid Icarus: Uprising, and while I don't really want to delete either one, I have to make space for MH4U. Add to that the fact that my internet connection at home isn't the best doesn't help things.
Now my question is, would it be possible for the following procedure to work?
1. my friend buys and downloads MH4U on his 3DS
2. I buy MH4U on the e-shop, and select download later
3. My friend then opens his SD card on the PC, and copies the untouched MH4U game folder
4. I open my SD card on the PC, delete the temporary MH4U folder, and replace it with my friend's untouched copy of the game
It will not. Each game file has a special code specific to each handheld, and your procedure would copy over your friend's code to your 3DS. Even if you buy the game, it will still not let you access it because it has the wrong code. You must download it yourself.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)

Ah, I see. Alright, thanks then! I suppose I'll just lend my friend my 3DS first! ^^
