Okay, a bit of an awkward question and I’m coming from a “privileged” position but I want to play Fire Emblem Fates to grab some of the DLC before eShop dies (need to play to chapter 6 and buy in game).
My situation, I own sealed copies of all 3 physical releases. My plan always was to open up Revelations and play through all 3 routes but frankly with the Special Edition going for silly money now (I actually owned 2 for like 2 weeks on release due to a duplicate order) I am scared for unsealing the 3DS case. So I just wanted people’s thoughts on my 3 choices:
1) Unseal and play Birthright & Conquest games, then buy Revelations DLC.
2) Buy eShop version for £40 and then buy Other Path + Revelations DLC for £18 each.
3) Just open up the Revelations as you’re unlikely to sell that game and even then, an opened version still goes for a lot.
In spite of their often crazy resale value, I can't say I've ever considered parting with any of my FE games. Just open up the special edition and play that.
For what it's worth I bought Birthright physical and the other two as DLC.
