If you didn't receive the message sent by Team Ninja today via your 3DS. There's a 26th character in the game. Shiden is a playable character. All you need to do is have all 25 characters unlocked. Go over Random during the character selection screen and press the combination L + X and then A. Costume 2 R + X and then A. Finally Costume 3 L + R + X and then A.

Shiden is the father and tacher of Kasumi and Hayate. He's also the final character you battle in the Course 6.
So enjoy the extra content, Christie costume and the new throwdown today. If this doesn't make Dead or Alive one of the best games for the 3ds, i don't know what more Team Ninja can do to please.

So what? GameFAQs has had that listed for weeks. The only new information is that you automatically unlock him after unlocking all the other characters.

Not everybody checks Gamefaqs for their info and it was nice for the developers to send this Easter Egg to us via SpotPass... but I would recommend people to check out GameFaqs anyway because they have a few easter eggs for this game. Basically slight cosmetic changes to the characters by doing buttom combos on the icond before selecting them, just like they explain for you to do when selecting Shiden.
