Sounds pretty good. I'll probably get it one day

They Liked: the fun & satisfying arcade style action, lots of tank customization options, lots of collectables to find.

They Disliked: the somewhat samey environments, and high difficulty.

The game is great. 30 tanks to unlock is awesome but the difficulty spikes ..... oh man. You do all the missions easily then the Defend the base mission comes and your done.

They said the game is dissapointingly bland & generic, especially considering that it's made by the same guy who gave us the ultra creative Asura's Wrath & Soul Sacrifice (almost felt as if Inafune passed the project off to an intern). The view is zoomed in way too close to the tank, meaning you won't get a chance to attack until a bug is already right on top of you, and this causes you to pay more attention to the map rather than the game screen itself (mentioning that the dev did add an auto firing gun that does stun enemies, but that cover up is no excuse for poor design in the first place). They also mentioned that the different bugs don't really feel varied in the way they attack, or how you deal with them, so it gets boring quick, and the game has very unbalanced difficulty spikes, almost requiring multiplayer play to complete the game, which shouldn't be the case. They said that the decision of making German soldiers the protagonists was jarring, and could have given the game a unique spin, but as they don't actually do anything with the idea, it feels like a last ditch effort to cover up the fact that the game is as generic as it gets.

On the positive side, they said the game is quite long for a Guild title, and there's lots to collect, customize, & unlock, but it's such a chore to play in the first place, that it's tough to be enticed by these.

"Ultra creative Asura's Wrath"?

What is this game like? It looks interesting but also really weird... I'm just not sure what to make of it from videos and pictures.

Any first hand experience? :3

Anyone else pick this up because of the Level 5 sale?

Despite the mixed reviews (some being quite scathing) I'm really enjoying it. It actually looks quite nice graphically, there are varied environments (2 different grasslands, giant spider web, tree top, & desert so far), loads of cool tanks to collect & different bugs to blast, and it's much longer than I thought it'd be (just completed mission 20, and I seem to be only halfway done).

As for the difficulty spikes some have mentioned, while they are there, I find that the "defend the base" missions really aren't that bad if you use a speedy chassis mixed with a powerful turret (peircing shell equipped). That always seems to work for me (it allows you to quickly get to wherever the enemies are, while having the firepower to destroy most foes with one shot, and even the most powerful foes with only two or three shots).

I find the most difficult missions are the ones on the tree top map, as I always seem to get knocked off 2 or 3 times (which is insta-death BTW), and it's usually a matter of finding the path of least resistance (which becomes a real challenge if you're also exploring to find that mission's hidden tank as well).

Just completed mission 30, so I only have 10 missions left!

Things are going into a very surprising direction, that I never thought they'd actually do...

Next mission apparently has you facing off against a battalion of shrunken Allied tanks, and that's something I thought they'd avoid (I figured an Allied group would either be absent from the game altogether, or forced to team up with the Germans based on the situation). I suppose that latter option could still happen, but it's not looking likely.

YES!

My prediction was right, and you end up forming a truce with the Allies right before the big fight, because a Mantis interrupts the occasion.

Anyhow, I have 10 tanks left to collect, but there's only 9 post game missions, and not all of them have a tank to find. Are there some tanks only obtainable through the Co-Op missions? (and yes, I already have the special "Linked Game" tank)

Whew, just beat the last treetop mission in singleplayer. That was a real heart pounder, lol.

Only 3 single player missions left!

Just finished the last single player mission! Those last few were tough as nails!

A question though (and I know I seem to be the only one still on this topic, but it can't hurt), There are still a few tanks I have left to get, as well as a few bugs I haven't come across. Are they only available on higher difficulties, or are they only in the Co-Op missions?

Anyone know how to do the double spider mission (second to last mission I think). It's the only mission I have left to do and it seems impossible.

I will not be playing any game where I will be playing German soldiers, that's for sure.

Don't forget that Colonel Stauffenberg was the one who planted the bomb that almost killed Hitler. The German military largely opposed Hitler in the elections, but ended up seeing him as a better option to communism. Rommel was even implicated in the plot to kill Hitler. Hitler ordered him to commit suicide quietly or he would send the SS after his family. Many others in the military were behind him in the plot as well. Don't confuse the regular military with the SS.

Anyway, I picked up this game b/c I like tanks. I thought it was much better than it got reviews for. It's worth picking up.
