So, I got the game for free and I thought I could share some details about it with anyone interested.
It seems to be an arcade in a space ship, with little arcade machines littering the place, it's kinda cute.
The games are:
Jewels- a bejeweled clone in the top screen, that means you can't use the touch screen. The game seems to like to make combos by itself though. I imagine it gets harder later on.
Blocks - Tetris, old school tetris. There's no block saving nor insta-put but it works.... Like tetris.
Swap - Columns, ya know, that sega game.
Pop it up - that game where you launch colored spheres to pop more spheres sticked to the top of the screen. The background is pretty nice in this one. It's certainly my favorite of the bunch.
Impacts - Asteroids, at first I couldn't figure it out but you move with the opad and shoot with L and R, both buttons shoot differently.
Bounce and Break - No, it's not a gory dance game. It's a space themed breakout clone with power ups and stuff.
Ok it seems that's all.
The game saves only the highest score for each game and it's displayed in the "HIGHSCORE" arcade machine (yeah it's its own arcade machine).
The game themselves are ok, even if you're thrown into the action with no explication whatsoever and there's no fanfare or anything if you get the highscore.
The menu though, it's kinda weird, every time you return to it, it fixes the "cursor" (aka the selected arcade machine is always) the one for Jewels, so if you want to play again the same game you need to move over to it again.
The text is not well optimized for Spanish, but I assume that won't be a problem if you play in English.
All in all, this is a nice collection of six arcade clones that work well, all of them use the button controls which may make some of them a little more challenging (like the pop it up).
That's all!
Edit: OH YEAH the 3D effect is pretty nice, jt gives a lot of depth and makes the games a little more interesting, specially the ones with actual 3D backgrounds.
Well, I still haven't finished my first game of Jewels, and already I feel like I got my money's worth, as I've been playing it for several hours, lol. Seems to be way too easy, and the difficulty only seems to ramp up slightly by adding in one more jewel type every 10 levels. The game is nice enough to look at, and the music hasn't driven me nuts yet. I just hope the other games are more challenging and quicker to play.
A single game of "swap" lasted me quite a long time. It controls like columns but it's a slower more "zen" affair, it ended up boring me after a while but I couldn't stop playing for some reason. The music is pretty good in that one
My favorite game so far is the one about the bubbles though, it's faster and the background looks great in 3D. Not to mention that I already liked rhe genre.
@McFox: some game news pages and even developers tend to give out free codes every now and then to promote their games. It's usually through social networks like twitter or facebook.
I got around playing it, all game have the same song besides impact, I guess the games are alright but in impact the ship is big, got two guns and don't more like the original Asteroids while there are many asteroids with a big ship on a small screen.
I found the Swap and Blocks games to move too sluggishly to want to play them. I don't like the way the paddle controls in the Bounce & Break game, but it does have cool powerups and it's challenging at least, although it did crash my 3DS the first time I got a game over on it for some reason. The Pop It Up game also seems decent enough. The Impact game is probably my favourite (and less frustrating than actual Asteroids), but it just ends abruptly at level 20 without even a completion message after asking you to continue, so I have no idea whether it's a bug or it's actually supposed to end: kind of a shame that it ends, as it's the one game I would like to replay for high scores. All-in-all, the collection is pretty mediocre, but about what you'd expect for $3 I guess.
