Which of your all-time favorite 3DS or DS games would be a really good fit for mobile devices?
I personally would love to play Final Fantasy III and IV remakes, Animal Crossing, and Pikmin on a 7 or 8 inch tablet. I played FF3 mostly with a stylus and almost never touched the D-pad, so it would be a great conversion, especially if SquareEnix improved the textures. Animal Crossing of course feels great on the go, because you can play it in small doses. Pikmin has never been mobile, but I think it's a great fit for touch gameplay.
Iwata said they don't intend to port games, because they don't want people to think Nintendo will stop innovating. But given time, they will definitely start porting some games, and I can bet a million dollars that eventually there will be a full-blown Virtual Console on mobiles.
I don't think Nintendo will port anything to phones and tablets, just because those games were made with buttons and sticks in mind and quite frankly, virtual buttons and sticks suck.
That said, I can totally see an endless runner Donkey Kong Country, a point and click Luigi's Mansion, a gyroscope and touch Mario Kart, and all of Nintendo's RPGs like Pokemon and Fire Emblem being quite at home on smartphones and tablets.
Maybe they'll do virtual console games on the iOS, but yeah...like they said their main games will still be on the 3DS/Wii U and whatever the NX will be.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
They don't ever need to port any games when Hideki Konno is overseeing game development. A producer of that quality can make far far far better games built from ground up for capacitive touch technology
