@VoidofLight AC is a slow and deliberate long tail game. I think a LOT of people will have burned themselves out trying to do everything as fast as possible. AC as modernized as it is isn't that type of game.
@Ryan_Again Hey dude I just opened my island myself. I've been taking it pretty casual.
It sounds like you haven't completed some of the community projects. Basically keep talking to Tom Nook he'll give you tasks and as you complete them you'll get extra features for the island. I think I just unlocked the proper game yesterday.
I had to finish building homes for the three extra neighbors so now I have 5 total. I had to complete the bridge building project, and I think once the neighbors moved in so did our new helper Isabelle and I think I'll get more events now. But there's still projects Nook has for me.
@boatie the game is literally open sources and free. You can play it on your phone or in your browser. It's a great game and you should play it you just don't need a switch to do so.
