@Tao Actually, game companies like Nintendo pay for the shelf space. I used to work at Toys R Us and this was the case there. Once a month or so, a Nintendo Rep would stop by the store and make sure that the shelf areas paid for by Nintendo only contained Nintendo products. He also set up all the displays. So this is something that Nintendo decided to do and not a retailer decision.
@Dipper723 Why do you say that? What could you tell your teammates that they don't already know? A quick glance down at your gamepad tells you who's winning and where everybody is. This isn't like Call of Duty where they're counting kills. I usually hate listening to strangers when I play shooters online. I agree that it isn't necessary.
