@ Mickeymac...agreed. @ Corbie.. I can't believe that somebody else has even heard of Forbidden Forest! The dragon was tough to beat, but the Grim Reaper was worse, and the last boss...just shoot straight up...easy. I'd like Roadwar: Europa - the best videogame ever until Advance Wars came out. Airborne Ranger, and Koronis Rift would be nice too.
@Longtimegamer....way back in post #5, the game you were talking about (I believe) is called, "Rampart". It is one of the best PvP games ever. That is actually the game that came to my mind when I read the review of this one. Rampart is one of my top 5 games I'd like to see on the VC.
As an American, I would love to have the C64, but they still haven't put out any of my favorite games: Roarwar Europa, Gunship, Airborne Ranger, Koronis Rift to name a few.
I need to give everybody a warning. I don't think that this game is for everybody. I would give it a 10/10, but I think that it is aimed at the "nerd" demographic (of which I am a proud member). However, my wife hates it; she would much rather play Bomberman Blast. It is not AT ALL an action title. People say that it is a puzzle/ strategy game using physics. I think that it would be more specifically described as mechanics rather than physics. There is no game I know of to use as a comparison. Lemmings combined with Pikmin would be the best I could do.
I'm a long-time fan of Mega Man. It was my favorite series on the NES. I agree with Corbie on his review 9 out of 10. This is also the score I give to Mega Man 2. I would give the only 10 in the series to Mega Man 3. I felt like that game focused more on "combat" than on "platforming". I loved Mega Man 2 and I LOVE Mega Man 9! Personally, I feel like it had too many tricky platforming areas with instant death possibility (i.e. holes, spikes, or magma) Those of you like this, then this game is a 10 for you. I loved all the giant mini-bosses in three, where shooting them was like hitting the broad side of a barn, but their attacks were powerful. Though a small thing, I prefer having the slide maneuver available; this also added to "combat" of MM3. However, I am glad that they stayed away from the charged shot with the mega buster that was introduced inMM4; I felt that this let you be too powerful without getting any weapons. I also would have like some sort of melee attack (i.e. the top spin from MM3 or charge slide from MM5). Again, if you like all the tricky platforming, then MM9 is a perfect 10. For me it would have been a 10 with more focus on combat, add the slide, and a melee attack.
Lucky Americans indeed. I still say, "lucky Europeans" for having the C64. Though nothing I really want for it is out yet: Airborne Ranger, Gunship, Maniac Mansion, Roadwar Europa, Auto Duel (to name a few).
@ 110 "deadly by design" Quick boomerang makes quick work of that pesky dragon. @ the people who can beat this quickly with just the p-shooter on difficult, gratz! That is hard to do. If that is fun for you, great! Personally, I like finding the perfect weapon for just about every enemy in the game. I have more fun by dominating the game, but that's me. @ Bass xo, I agree, I'm so glad that I found this sight.
@ Tony, yeah I like to take out Metalman first then I use metal blades for the rest of the game! @ Stardust, beat Metalman first; metalblades give you directional shot, and the energy for them never runs out. @ GrandSparkster, thats why you take out flashman first, and use the timestopper to beat the level. @ Drake (and others), I agree that 3 was my favorite; there were clearer weapon choices to beat the bosses, and I believe better boss designs (plus its when they gave you a pet dog!) Crashman level music is the best! careful, it will get into your head!! I would recommend the anniversary collection. ebay-$15 Mega-man 1-8!

Re: Review: Gradius ReBirth (WiiWare)
yeah, this looks better than Gyrostar. I bought Gyrostar because i wanted a shooter, and it was AWFUL! I'd give it a 1/10.
Re: Review: Winter Games (C64)
Ahh, yes, Gunship was a great game! I used to always outfit my copter with 4 sets of the hellfire missles.

Re: USA WiiWare Update: Sandy Beach
@longtimegamer, no 1PL. Rampart had no ending.

Re: Review: World of Goo (WiiWare)
yeah, I haven't played it yet, but it looks kinda like Lemmings or Pikmin.
Re: USA WiiWare Update: World Of Goo & Art Style: Cubello
IGN gave World of Goo a 9.5 out of 10!
Re: USA WiiWare Update: World Of Goo & Art Style: Cubello
I'd like to know what makes World of Goo so great. It looks like a "Lemmings" type of game. or "Pikmin" I liked them.
Re: Review: Mega Man 9 (WiiWare)
IMO, best music goes to the Jewel Man stage. I doubt that the Crash Man music will ever be beaten.
