I don't know if it was just because I was more focused on the voices in the trailers, but the volume for them seems to be significantly lower while actually playing, so I never had to disable the voices. Overall, I thought the voices added some humor to the game and were well-balanced as to not be too distracting or so easily ignored that the tips some of them provided would be missed.
