While I personally don't use any of the internet functions and apps of the 3DS and Wii U (other than system/software updates and e-shop), I can see why such apps can be immensely useful. There will be people that want to use their Switch to watch videos, browse websites, and other stuff. This article (you will need to scroll down a bit on the article to see the relevant part) shows one of the reasons why there should be such apps on the Switch. The Switch being a portable device will also allow it to bring in people who are looking into getting a tablet if it has the apps and other functions tablets do. Good tablets today run at around $240-$320. The Switch is in that price range. Remember that Nintendo is hoping to bring in mobile gamers and others that don't often buy gaming consoles. Also remember that no one person is the same. Everyone likes different things and just because I or you or someone else does not use apps on gaming consoles, doesn't mean no one else does.
Nintendo should have just released SMR for the 3DS eshop. The pricing would not have become the issue that it is right now. A large portion of people in the mobile market are too used to the "Free", less than adequate games in the App Store to appreciate quality games.
@Desrever There are many countries that celebrate Halloween throughout the world. Canada celebrates it. Most European countries and some countries in Asia celebrate it. Australia and New Zealand also celebrate it. I'm sure they will have the same (or similar) event as the US. I'm not sure how other countries will participate in the event. This event will also occur during the first day of the Day of the Dead, which occurs on November 1-2. Maybe that is how they will have the event in Mexico and South America.
It's an interesting concept. They could have it set during the period of the war that was mentioned in Pokemon X and Y. Humans and Pokemon fought together during that war.
Either way, I'm glad that TMS was made. I greatly enjoy playing the game.
