@Olshmelly I'm very confounded too. It's not a story-driven game or a character-driven game. Link talking a lot would be weird, and the alternative of letting the side characters do the talking feels just as bad, since they're never really developed, and don't talk all that much either.
So much of the atmosphere comes from lovely and expressive art styles, which is moot if you're shooting generic fantasy landscapes.
Who cares about the costume selection when the whole thing looks so lazy and charmless?
A low-dialog animation with a gorgeous art style, maybe like Primal, would be the only way to do this without taking a high dive into the uncanny valley. But they're clearly trying to do this on the cheap.
Can't wait for fanboys to look past every gaping flaw and act indignant when the tonal mismatch confounds everyone else.
@breach187 Nintendo's new CEO is actually a finance guy who is not a gamer. I feel like the problems started well before him, but it seems like a response to investors getting obsessed with Nintendo after switch's success. It feels like a very bad omen.
