@DonkeyKongBigBoy Switch Online has a smaller selection, updates much less frequently, the N64 games were butchered at launch and just getting fixed, and ultimately you don't own the games since you're just renting them via a subscription whereas I can turn on my 14 year old Wii and still play the huge library of retro games I have on it.
Personally I'd rather pay for an individual game I get to own instead of a service that will inevitably shut down.
I think its a combination of licensing issues, compatibility issues, other companies wanting to release retro collections, and Nintendo not wanting to cannibalize sales of their newer games with their huge retro catalogue.
They had a good virtual console for Wii U because they were desperate to keep that system afloat.
I had a lot of fun with SF4 on the PS3 and 3DS back in the day, I tried SF5 but hated for its V-Trigger mechanic as well as having really barebones content until DLC fixed it years later, and now I'm worried SF6 will be more of the same since 5 was a huge success and pretty much dominated the fighting game scene.
I like Miis as an option in the Smash Bros or Mario Sports/Kart games, but other than that I could care less. I think they're being phased out because the Wii and Wii U eras are over and Nintendo wants to move away from it.
However I'm not really digging the new avatars for Wii Sports, they feel kind of soulless and lack charm by comparison, I feel like they're only there because the Miis would give people the impression that this was a port of the original Wii Sports.

Re: Soapbox: Why Can't Nintendo Offer Both Virtual Console And Switch Online?
@DonkeyKongBigBoy you argued that NSO is the better service, and I argued why I think its not.

Min Min amiibo should have stretchy arms like Stretch Armstrong

Re: Android 21 (Lab Coat) Joins Dragon Ball FighterZ Next Week
Should have been there from the start, I personally like this look better, the other one looks too similar to Buu to be its own unique design.
Re: PSA: Update All Your 3DS Games, Even The Ones You Don't Own (Just In Case)
I'm not sure I need to for any of the games I own, but man I don't feel like going through my library of like thirty something games.
