Yep, that's going to be a problem for competitive gameplay. I'm not a melee "purist" and even I can that agree landing lag should be addressed immediately. I'm really looking forward to playing this game for years, so I hope that this doesn't hinder the overall quality and depth in competitive matches or even in casual matches with friends for that matter.
Oh my God!!!!!! I can't believe we're getting an entire direct devoted to Smash Bros!!! Yes!! I couldn't ask for anything more.(besides having the game in my hands) Sakurai must have something very special planned to show us, and I can't wait to see what that is. Whatever it is I'm sure it will make the wait for Smash Bros. even harder for many of us. I'm really hoping for a release date.
There are many interesting choices here, though I'd be ok with whichever character Sakurai decides to include (or not include) simply because he knows how to make them work. In the past I would've been skeptical about inclusions of characters like Wii fit trainer, Villager or even Rosalina (another Mario rep) yet he made them look interesting and fun. I really can't wait to see if any Namco character makes it in but if it were my guess I think it's going to be Pac-Man. It would be a missed opportunity if it weren't him being the iconic character that he is, besides I trust Sakurai could somehow make him more appealing as a fighter. He just needs to think outside of the box.
@AJSjedi No it's ok, lol. I didn't mean to infer that. I never proposed that they would release a new console at this point (I would dislike that, in fact). I'm just saying that the Wii U is stuck in this unfortunate situation due to poor decisions, and that annoys me lol. I'm just venting some steam here about it. I know sales will be a lot better for the console in the future. It'll take some time though.
How disappointing. Nintendo is falling behind once again. I sure hope this is the last of generations we'll have to deal with this nonsense. It nerves me because I really want to see Nintendo succeed. I do hope they've finally understood their error and release more attractive hardware and software in the future. Don't get me wrong though. I do have a Wii U and games for it. It would just be asking too much to expect the same from others as well. People need more incentives to upgrade their old Nintendo consoles, which is understandable, and I know Nintendo can offer those incentives.
@Ernest_The_Crab I agree with you 100%. As much as I can admire the newer 3d Mario games for their creativity and modern controls, I believe it was a step back when they decided to abandon the open world exploration for these games. The newer games could've been so much better if it were still present. Unfortunately there are many who won't agree with us and as a consequence Mario games will be kept simple and linear for quite some time.

Re: Nintendo Promotes $99 2DS Target Deal, Available Until 17th May
Nice. I'm glad I held back on purchasing one until now. I'm going to see if I can grab one at Target tomorrow.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2014 - Spring Edition
Smash Bros. hands down, though I'm getting all or most of the games on that list while we wait for an official release date.
