It's being broken by Kotaku though, so while there's a chance of inappropriate work place behavior, I'm gonna sit back and wait to see if anything actually comes out of this. Huge grain of salt if you will.
I bought a digital pre order because I can't wait to play this thing (come midnight I'm GOING) but also I want the special edition so I'm holding out hope for another batch. 🥲
I beat xc1, played half of x, beat most of x2 (but ibr the anime boob stuff and the rex harem grated on me), so I'm pretty much ready for this one.
I'm glad that they kept SOME of the more soft anime looking vibes from XC2 but went with a more realistic anime designs from XC DE.
Also Noah is a cool looking protagonist, which is new to the series considering Shulk is a pretty boi/weakling type and Rex looks like a weird ass baby.
I agree so much! Mario Sunshine is incredibly easy to get lost in its world- my brother pointed out how small the levels were and that surprised me but I guess they packed a LOT into what they had because every single level oozes charm.
The platforming is also so pleasing and I enjoyed the little story cues with Peach and Toadsworth (pls bring him back btw).
Honestly. Between Sunshine and Luigis Mansion; the gamecube era was peak Mario Brothers and I doubt we'll ever have such such a charming and enjoyable era for that franchise again.
@EVIL-C I tried since launch at 10:30 until 6:51pm. I ended up wasting so much of my day waiting and anxiously checking my phone. It's so depressing I could cry.
I didn't know that corneredape was one of the people pitching a fit over similarities... that's disappointing.
Only a few of the sprites could have been considered direct rip offs of SV, and this was when the game was in early development, who knows how they would have changed it?
Considering that Stardew Valley started out as Harvest Moon fan game, and then it slowly it's look evolved until Eric was no longer using any Marvelous properties (pixels, sounds, etc), but that took time and he had full support from the farming sim communities.
As someone who played and loved Ara Fell 4 years back, the story was actually really touching, the characters are likable and thought out. The music was great, and the whole aesthetic was fantastic, which is why I am so glad to see this game is finally getting a release!
The dev team is really capable.
I Kickstart-ered this one way back in 2018 and it's gonna be pretty dang sweet to get my hands on it.
...The Loud House gets two character slots? Heck no. Why?
There have been so many better nick shows... there ARE better ones airing now that will age better then that horrid show (which I had the unhappy privilege of seeing when I went to the dentist and they had nickelodeon on of all things).
@SortingHat So not only did this reviewer NOT like the OG Skyward Sword much (calling it so-so) but he's also a graphics junkie?
Who cares what his opinion is then?
It does sound disappointing if Nintendo dropped the ball on a doing a full remaster but I'll wait and see for myself. Otherwise, SS was actually always super fun for me and it's in my top five Zelda titles.
If it's not a pay-to-play and a one time buy like stardew valley mobile was then I definitely want to play this. It looks amazing! Not the top down/uggo generic big eye/no dialogue mess that olive town has been...
I'd give it a 5 out of 10. It's been surprisingly addictive for me and the bachelors and bachelorettes have been a huge upgrade from Light of Hope.
The seed gathering is fun imo... but the stamina loss from walking and INSANELY fast clock are huge negatives. I also hate that the non marrigable npcs have no actual names???
It basically feels like they improved on some things and on other things UNIMPROVED. I like the music, but don't like the lack of dialogue. I like the art style but don't like the empty maps. I like the gameplay but don't like how mines work. Etc.
I wonder why they rushed it out before making sure it was properly finished? 🤔 I just hope the US release gets the patches and updates within a week of the Japanese one.
@Anti-Matter I'm also feeling optimistic about One World- if only because it seems like they're ripping off the gameplay/aesthetic for Animal Parade and that's one of my FAVORITES.
I mean if Natsume had to learn how to actually make a good farm sim, that's one way to do it I suppose.
Looks very unpolished- But the gameplay does look like they're lifting it off of animal parade which is a favorite of mine... so if it's a decent enough knock off and the bachelors are well written I'll probably buy it. :l

Re: Talking Point: Is Tears Of The Kingdom The Scariest Zelda Game Ever?
Gibdo's are bad enough since they hide in plain sight but FLYING ones? Hmm n o thanks.
The like likes are gross and I didn't miss them but I kick their asses.
The gloom hands give me anxiety. I've played 82 hours and I havent killed them yet since they turned into Ganon like total jackwipes. So unfair.
Geeloks are no nos. I run.
Horriblins are uggo and creepy but I'm very handy with a spear so aside from the first few encounters I've had no issues.
Frox are dirty cheaters but I've killed like five. I've been in the depths a LOT.
Re: Review: Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 3 - Another Pair Of Lesser-Known RPG Gems
I was legit half way thru an emulation of La Pucelle when this collection was announced so I stopped and preordered it.
Looks like I'll have to grind to get back where I was lol.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - How Long Does It Take To Beat?
Sweet glorious goodness me... I knew it'd be long but this looks to be about the longest game yet...
I'm 19 hours in and only mid way thru chapter 3.
😅
Wish me luck boys.

I have it all preloaded so I'll just pop onto my switch and make sure it's updated for the midnight release!

Big phat hypocrite.
Re: 'Star Trek Prodigy: Supernova' Details And Release Date Revealed
Oh goodie. Another 'top down and away' camera angle game. That makes it a probable pass unless this game gets incredibly positive reviews. :/
Re: Random: Jealous Husband Sells Wife's Harvest Moon Collection To Stop Her "Marrying Virtual Men"
I would pick Doctor a thousand times over this troglodyte.
Not only is he my favorite bachelor ever, but he wouldn't be jealous of a pg rated farming sim.

Re: Ghibli-esque RPG Baldo: The Guardian Owls Finally Gets Launch Release Date
...Not too sure how I feel about shirtless boobie grandma... 😅
But the game does look really charming so I hope it's indeed as good as it seems to be odd.
Re: Talking Point: Everyone Has A Bad Game They Love, So What's Yours?
@mariomaster96 for me it's Pokemon Explorers of Time (I have no idea how different it is from Sky though).
Also, Sonic Riders (GC) is one of my favorite racing games ever.

@Trmn8r exactly how I felt about it.

Whacking moles for an item as been around since mfomt, only it was on your farmland.
And did you say FREE livestock??? 👀
Well well W E L L... now that IS an improvement.
