Unpopular opinion: Super Nintendo World is the definition of uninspired. The most basic Mario elements and nothing else. They should’ve done something more unique.
I would do a 3D Mario All Stars: 64, Sunshine, Galaxy, and Galaxy 2. Sunshine is the game that most needs a remaster as it’s one of the best Mario games ever but people don’t appreciate it because if it’s glitches and handful of bad levels.
@neogyo replying to this after the Paper Mario reveal, why on earth did Nintendo not reveal Paper Mario as a one more thing in the direct?! They could’ve had a trailer for Pokémon DLC earlier in the direct, and that would’ve been a good sized announcement to round out the direct. Totally baffling.
I'm glad that so many people thought it was a decent direct, but I think that people were so desperate that anything satisfied. I also saw people saying that the direct had nothing because of the virus potentially pushing back release dates, but Nintendo could have at least revealed something even if there is no solid release date. In my opinion, it was quite disappointing and easily the worst direct since the start of the Switch era, mini or no. We didn't get a single new first party game, not even a Mario spin off or a port. Nothing. The third parties shown were definitely fantastic, especially all the stuff from 2K, but this is a Nintendo Direct, and we know of not a single first party game coming in the second half of this year. So far this year the only really far reaching game has been Animal Crossing; Xenoblade is beloved by many (myself not included) and that's great, but in no way is it a far reaching, system selling title. My biggest question is what the holiday game will be, and that wasn't answered. Will we get Breath of the Wild 2 in November? Bayonetta 3? Something that hasn't been revealed? We need to know. Nintendo always gives a good amount of time between reveal (not teaser) and release with most of its big games, and that time is running out. And ending with the Pokemon Expansion Pass was just really disappointing for me. Can't wait to play the Panzer Dragoon Remake though!
If they released all of their big games on Switch things would be completely different. As for me the only Ubisoft game I own on Switch is Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, South Park looks good but eh whatever and I would've gotten Just Dance if I were 8 but yeah not when I'm 16...
