By the way for those hoping for a UK value substantially lower than the dollar prepare to be disappointed. With the current value of the £ and then adding on VAT we are now reaching parity with dollar prices.

For example at todays exchange rates

$199 = £164 + 20% VAT = £196
$249 = £205 + 20% VAT = £246
$299 = £247 + 20% VAT = £296

And it's not going to get any better so it could easily go up in price.

My copy arrived today from Nintendo UK (with the set of three Amiibo) and so far I'm a bit underwhelmed. It hasn't really grabbed me and I feel that I'm playing it because I should, not because I really want to.

I'm also finding the control mechanism hard to get use to.

Oh. And I really, really hope you can turn the music off.

I'm mixed on this game - I'm really looking forward to the exploration and love the creature design but the overly complex combat and the in-battle talking really put me off. I was looking at the English videos of the 3DS game and the in-battle dialogue was really grating. Now that I've seen the complexity involved battles i'm starting to have my doubts. The 'taunt mechanic' sounds awful and this won't work for me 'The video cited communication and listening to your party as a key to success in battle ...' sounds really frustrating.

I'll probably buy it anyway just to wander around.

Might need to set up a swap forum to sort this out!
