@Wexter There’s actually a near completed prototype of Twin Snakes that was leaked awhile back. So Konami would just have to use the prototype to help reverse engineer the game’s code. Bluepoint games was able to reverse engineer MGS2 and MGS3 without any source code or prototypes. Because Twin Snakes has a nearly completed prototype available, it should be much easier.
If they do bring the franchise to the Switch and other modern platforms I think they should release multiple collections like they have been with Castlevania.
First they could make a collection that has all of the games that came out up until Ghost Babel. This would include Metal Gear, Metal Gear (NES), Snake’s Revenge, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid: Integral/ Vr Missions and Metal Gear: Ghost Babel.
Every game besides Metal Gear Solid and Integral would be easy to emulate. Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake have modernized versions that came out a long time ago, and Konami still has the source code for those.
If they can’t get PS1 emulation up and running they could omit Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid: Integral and then save them for a second collection that would come out later once they figure things out. Also by not having the PS1 games the collection’s age rating wouldn’t be very high since games like Metal Gear: Ghost Babel were marketed to ten year olds. So the collection could be more accessible by having a lower age rating.
It would be nice if the collection let you use the Snake amiibo to unlock some stuff like how the MegaMan amiibo unlocks some challenges in the MegaMan Legacy collection. Maybe they could make a gold Snake amiibo like they did with MegaMan.

Re: Poll: Rate Your Favourite Nintendo 64 Games
ShadowGate was really good and sadly has never been rereleased just like a majority of n64 games.
