not sure why, but nintendo is really desperate for mkw to be seen as the best switch 2 game for some reason. even the author of the article has noticed something weird, given that little sarcastic jibe about it beating games that aren't out yet like metroid prime 4. famitsu has also been getting flak for counting mkw nintendo switch 2 bundles in its ranking of physical copies of video games sold in japan.

I'd take this news with a grain of salt regarding how well mkw physical is selling. Since the switch 2 mkw bundle includes a physical switch 2, a lot of nintendo websites have been including that in the "physical copies" of mkw to boost its sales number in the physical copies rankings. Would be especially surprising for this to be true for UK ranking given that while mario ip has strictly japanese origins, while most of donkey kongs popularity comes from dkc games, which was started by the British company Rare.
