Still on the fence about this. When I watched my wife reach the credits before I did, all I had to say was "is that it?!" This game was awesome for me because of the story and I found rebuilding areas we know and love to be an awesome gameplay loop, figuring out where they were supposed to represent and recognizing locales. I truly thought we were going to rebuild all of Kanto.
I'm usually not one of those "this should've been in the base game, it's bloated DLC!!!" kind of people, but it feels that way to me in this case. Love the quality of life improvements though. I may change my mind after the next town is showcased.
If only Miyamoto and the other suits realized the reality of our economic crisis and priced these products accordingly. "Sorry Timmy, I know you're going to bed hungry, but I had to buy the family our $100 Alarmo."
@JimmyFleck ehhh... I would argue (and I'm sure many would back me up on this) that both the 3DS Samus Returns and Dread are two of the biggest franchise boosters for the fanbase and casuals. I don't even like Metroid and I was swept up in the hype for both of those titles, all of my friends who are longtime Metroid fans were going kookoo for them.
@aperl19 at $80 I can't fully recommend this game to anyone. Even at launch, MK8 Deluxe was a stronger game. The wealth of content available now makes it even better. I find myself often going back to MK8 and having a better time. I will say, Knockout Tour is one of the best additions to the MK series and the mode I go back to the most. But even such a great new mode does little to help the barren courses, boring open-world, and too-hectic gameplay due to too many racers.
This is a huge drag. I have never been a GKC supporter but certainly don't lambast it like others do. In comparison to Sony's practices it really doesn't seem so bad. My first (and to date only) GKC was Pokopia and I love that it still has a cartridge, and acts as a cartridge when I plug it in to my S2. I'm seriously debating holding out on GTA VI until a physical disc is released down the line, which kills me. I took a week off from work when GTA V launched and was planning to do the same for VI, now I'm not so sure. Gotta put my money where my mouth is.
Feels a bit steep. I was of the few that really only played Pokopia for the story. Once the credits rolled I was shocked we weren’t rebuilding all of Kanto and promptly moved on. On the fence about spending half the price of the game for what will likely not be the equivalent to half the content of the base game.
I truly don’t understand Nintendo’s insistence on these new color schemes being predominantly black, with the most color accent being tucked away either in the switch 2 or joycon grip. Makes zero sense to me, and not at all enticed to pick up another set.
Just played through the demo and the lore-building cutscenes are stellar. Gameplay is smooth as butter and the graphics are gorgeous. Unlike many naysayers, this is shaping up to be a GOTY contender for me, and the perfect introduction to newcomers to the series. 6/25 can’t come soon enough!

Re: Got A Spare $400? This Pokémon 24-Movie Blu-Ray Collection Could Be Yours
MAYBE if this is was $200 I would go for this. $400 is absolute insanity. It's all carboard, not even steelbook. Very easy pass.

@Sebatrox Did you not read the review? Or, at the very least, the third paragraph?
Re: Pokémon Go In-Game Auto-Catcher Is Now Being Rolled Out
Looking forward to this, despite its limitations. I still use my auto catcher but remembering to charge it sucks, it has such a bad battery life!
Re: Review: Super Mario Sunshine (GameCube) - Not What We Expected, But It Still Shines
Forever hoping for a true sequel to this beautifully broken game.

@gcunit I don't see anything wrong with this pic? They look cool.
Re: Opinion: When It Comes To Metroid's Future, Familiar Is Better
@Luigia I own both, just doesn't do it for me, but I can recognize that it is a gorgeous, well-made game.
Re: Two Cancelled Virtual Boy Games Join 'Nintendo Classics' Today
@Pod Star Fox 2 is absolutely phenomenal, and the world is brighter and greener with its' official release on SNES Classic and NSO.

I have tried over the decades to be a fan of Metroid, it truly has it all, but something is just missing for me.
Re: Pokopia Expansion Pass Trailer Reveals New Pokémon & A First Look At 'Part 2'
@RupeeClock Now, now... you know what they meant. Obviously you need to pay for the base game for access to the Pokemon in the game ...
Re: PSA: New Knockout Tour Rallies Are Now Available In Mario Kart World
@Donutman I bought it at launch, in my area they did not have any bundles available. Any other questions?
Re: PSA: New Knockout Tour Rallies Are Now Available In Mario Kart World
@Donutman I spent $80 USD, I would've been thrilled with $50.
