Please sell me a white switch! Please please please! I foolishly bought a black 3ds and Mario 3d land a week before the white bundle. Not making that mistake again!
Actually waiting for a nice colour option before I buy a switch. Come on Nintendo, stop dripping them out and hit us with a kaleidoscope to choose from!
I tend to think of the switch as the true successor to the GB line. Still hoping for a non switching switch, called the Game Boy Switch... Finally, the third pillar, or something.
I'd say it was boring grey and hideous neon... Not buying one until they release a nice colour. Gutted when I bought a black 3ds only for the white one too release 2 weeks later, not making that mistake again!
I'll be waiting for the inevitable price drop sometime around summer 2018 then... Just like I did for the 3ds. Pity, a little cheaper and I'd have gone for it. I was hoping £250 with a game. Still, I don't get much time to play between work and 2 children, so plenty to keep me entertained with 3ds still.
More powerful than a ps4? I'd be happy if it was a match for Wii U! That would be a major upgrade from the 3ds anyway, and this is blatantly a portable console that plugs in to the TV, not a home console you can take with you. If successful then they will retire the 3ds, and only have a single console to develop for. Which is a good thing! All the games for one system instead of splitting them between two!
I very much doubt the 3ds will have a successor. They said the ds wouldn't replace the game boy line too. Maybe they should have called it the Game Boy Switch! One console makes sense, I don't think they have the capacity or market share to support 2 consoles anymore. It's fine by me, a portable with Wii u power is a great idea. Better give it an android compatibly layer for easy porting though.
Not everyone has a smart TV, i got a decent LCD pre smart, and since it still works and has a good picture, I haven't changed it. Found the Roku works very well and cheap. Even cheaper now you can buy the same thing branded as a sky box. Pity, I was going to buy a Wii u in the inevitable price drop, and move the Roku upstairs. Checked out at the cube and missed the Wii too, so plenty of games for me to catch up on!
For some actually good games for toddlers, see sago mini games on iOS, don't know if they're on Android. The fish game is a household favourite. Pity there's nothing like it for 3ds.
Still no real reason for me to buy a new 3ds then... Pity they didn't use the extra power for the Wii U ports, or a 3d pikmin. I'll buy one just as soon as there's a game I want that I can't play on the original. Still waiting for it.
Why can't they give up on console hardware and just make a controller for pc/tablet/ps/Xbox? Their main strengths are controllers and games after all, just ditch the console in the middle.
If you want entertainment, then try golden gun, slaps only, no odd job. Got to be quick on the trigger, but if you miss you opponent practically gets a free shot.
Surely the biggest problem with it was the price. It was at least twice that of the gameboy, so parents we're more likely to buy the latter. That generally ment everyone had a gameboy, and that made it more popular as well due to sharing games and multiplayer.
I really really don't understand why Nintendo don't release snes, advance and n64 games on 3ds. What's wrong with them?! The old ds was an n64 for crying out loud. I understand gc not being on them (though if they started releasing them for n3ds I'd buy one like a shot). Surely the ambassadors have got over the price drop by now...
I'm kind of hoping the NX will be a controller, and pretty much just a controller. Connect it to your phone or tablet and you've got a handheld console that updates every year. There are controllers that connect already of course, but mobile games assume you haven't got one and aren't made for them. Nintendo games could only run if you have the controller. Google or Apple could do the same, but Nintendo could bring it's game and controller design and just make it run on hardware pretty much everyone has already. It's a thought anyway.
I really wanted one when they first came out, mainly due to the snes coloured buttons.. I have a micro in the famicon colours after all. But since I'm not too interested in xenoblade, there not much other reason. Now if there was a prime or pikmin trilogy, that would be a different story!

So are the red/white switch colours dreamt up too? That's the only reason I clicked...

Pity it's 2d, I really miss the old skater/bmx/snowboard games. If the ps1 could do them, why can't the 3ds? Hopefully they'll make comeback soon...

+1 for moon chronicles in the EU/UK. Was so excited when it released in the US, but nearly 2 years later it's still a no show.

Any hope of a moon chronicles release in the UK now? I doubt it, but I'd buy it in a second.

Re: Talking Point: The Easily Forgotten Hardware Release of 2015 - New Nintendo 3DS
@monkeyfish it's also a bummer they didn't up the resolution, and then upscale all the games, now that would have been a very good reason to upgrade.
