This is targeted at smaller kids, as they said, and makes a lot of sense. In a couple of years there will be a smaller version of the Switch with non-detachable controls, but until then Nintendo's flagship product has tons of little parts for small kids to break and lose, not too mention its just way too large for a little kid to hold for more than a few minutes.
I would buy this for my 4 year old for Christmas, maybe, but I wouldn't even consider getting him a Switch.
I have a 4 year old. No way would I buy him a Switch, but I would consider getting him this 2DS for his 5th birthday or Christmas. This actually makes a lot of sense until a "Switch Mini" with a smaller screen and non-detachable controllers comes out in a year or two.
As it is, the Switch is way too big and finicky for tiny hands.
@subpopz I seriously doubt that is the attitude of the people that worked hard to create this game and bring it to Switch, and whose livelihood comes from this game's success on all platforms. People are deciding to read a LOT into one semi-flippant Tweet from whoever happened to be logged into their PR Twitter account at the time.
@brutalpanda yeah I don't get it. Buy the game or not, give it a bad review if you bought and think the frame rate is such a big deal. But you'd think by the comments here the developer killed these peoples pets.
@dimi the constraint is not demand, its supply. Lots of people want to buy one and still cannot. If 99% of Switches hitting the shelves (virtual and physical) immediately sell, lowering the price wouldn't change the number of units sold.

People take this kind of thing way too personally.
