Sorry Nintendo. Love your games, but my root is worth more to me than your apps. As a grandfathered Unlimited Data user, I need my root to tether. I can do without your games.
I remember seeing the trailer for this and wasn't very impressed. It looked aesthetically better than most indie titles, but it also didn't look very fun.
The problem here is that the fanbase is split between 2D and 3D Sonic. Releasing one without the other will only appease half of the fanbase. Releasing a Generations 2 is probably their safest bet.
Personally I think they should get together with the Freedom Planet team.
I don't think Nintendo should worry about trying to compete with the other two companies, but they also shouldn't completely ignore it. Their focus should be on a completely solid experience out of the box while being both innovative AND intuitive. All the gimmick in the world won't help if your customers don't understand it. The console should also be easy to develop for to entice the 3rd party developers and have a strong launch library. Lastly, they need to advertise advertise advertise. NA is a very advertise heavy market. Just about every other commercial break there's a Sony or Microsoft ad for their console or game for their console. Word of mouth and niche websites aren't going to be good enough for Nintendo.
Oh and one last thing... Nintendo needs to figure out their online account system, ESPECIALLY if their new console is going to be a portable hybrid.
@BinaryFragger I think it's safe to say that most people who wanted Minecraft have already bought it on literally any other system. The Wii U version doesn't distinguish itself from all of the other versions, so why would someone who already owns a copy on one or two different platforms want to buy this copy if it offers nothing new or unique? I can't claim to speak for everyone or even the majority; I can only claim to speak for myself, but that's why I won't be buying this.
It's too little too late. It feels too much like an afterthought, like they put the minimal amount of required effort into milking another income source rather than truly making Minecraft for the Wii U, if it is to really come with no Wii U-nique features.
On a personal level, though, I can't bring myself to play just vanilla Minecraft anymore. I can't play without mods. Mods are the breath of life behind Minecraft's longevity.
I have faith in Nintendo here. Everything I've scoffed at them for in the past has turned out to be unexpectedly enjoyable for me. Their gimmicks have been my favorite parts of their systems lately.
I will admit, I enjoyed connecting my 3DS to my WiiU Smash Bros and using that as a controller. I'd love to see it used more in that way. I would also like to see more games paired between the two consoles, such as Mario Maker which could really benefit from having a mobile port.

Re: Looks Like The Pokkén Tournament Pro Pad Was Supposed To Have LEDs And Force Feedback
Motors yes, but I can't see LEDs raising the price all that much. LEDs are cheap.
Re: Pokémon Reorchestrated Has Its YouTube Channel Taken Down Due to Third Copyright Strike
Man EVERYONE is complaining about Youtube's takedown system.

Re: Review: Jones on Fire (Wii U eShop)
I'm not a fan of ported mobile games.
Re: Analysts Weigh in on Nintendo's Successes and Failures with amiibo
It would be nice if the Amiibos were the unlockable characters themselves.
Instead of buying software DLC and then buying the Amiibos after the fact, you could just buy the Amiibo and unlock that character for the game.

It's good to know a 6 year old game supports basic functionality. /s

Re: Sega Slashes Full-Year Net Profit Projection By 90 Percent
@Mijzelffan It shows you who's in it for just the money rather than to genuinely make games. Good riddance.
Re: Sega Slashes Full-Year Net Profit Projection By 90 Percent
If only they had released PSO2 in the US.
Re: Wii U Version Of Indivisible Not Possible, But NX Is Up For Consideration
I don't buy this excuse for a second.
If Xenoblade Chronicles X can run fine on the Wii U, a 2d game can run fine on the Wii U.
Guess which one of these developers is getting my money.
Re: EA Will Evaluate "Any And All Opportunities" When It Comes To Nintendo And NX
They just need to figure out how to microtaxation the NX ports first.
Motion Control support for only $2.99!
Re: Video: Take a Look at the Mega Man Cartoon that Never Was
@allav866 I'm certain some of those scenes where repurposed into the American Super Fighting Robot intro sequence.

@Benji Thank you for playing. That is not the secret.
