Please just let it be! It doesn’t matter what voice actor is chosen, it will ruin Link for me. Every time I play a Zelda game I’ll hear whatever voice actor is chosen’s voice in my head instead of enjoying Link’s character through his expressions and body language (which is always 𝙁𝘼𝙉𝙏𝘼𝙎𝙏𝙄𝘾, btw) like it’s meant to be!
Mario is 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 different. Even though he doesn’t speak complete sentences, he still speaks actual words (and often even small phrases) constantly. So giving him a voice was fine and Chris Pratt did a great.
Link, on the other hand, does makes noises often but it’s always things like grunts or shouts. Never, in any of the 𝟮𝟵 𝗭𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗮 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 we have been blessed with, does Link speak an 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱. It’s part of what makes Zelda…well, Zelda.
As cool as it may sound on paper (I guess), I hope this doesn’t happen.
It has 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 to do with Illumination (they’re great) or which voice actors or anyone else involved.
It has 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 to do with protecting and preserving an 𝗜𝗖𝗢𝗡, that is like no other, and an absolute 𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗘 that most of us have grown up with from childhood to this 𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 day!
(I feel like I should now yell "𝘾𝙃𝘼𝙍𝙂𝙀" and run down a hill full speed or something…phew!)
