I get your point, but I'd actually say mother brain's difficulty elevates the entire game! Precisely because it's basically unavoidable to take damage almost constantly this fight gives you a reason to collect as many upgrades throughout the game as possible (especially missiles!). It reminds me of how TOTK has the opposite issue: precisely because the final boss fight isn't hard at all it feels pointless to collect armor and weapons throughout Hyrule, which is supposedly the game's main feature!
