Re: Talking Point: How Does Switch 2's Launch Price Compare To Past Nintendo Systems?

Inflation is a poor measure, as wages have deflated in real terms since 2010. A better measure would be average (or mode) hours worked to buy the console, which I would guess is way more. There is also less economic demand and more global uncertainty. Without wages to keep up with prices, something had to give. Without strong organisations (like trade unions) to collectively bargain for better wages, greed knows no bounds...

Re: Talking Point: Does Switch 2 Have Nintendo's Best Launch Line-Up Ever?

Absolutely not. Mariokart and DK, plus yesteryear games from other consoles is not a good launch package. The real cost of the console once accessories taken in to account, and 1 game, is between £600-£700! This could be the first Nintendo console ever that I don't want to own, partly because of nintendo's poor corporate decision making on exploitative pricing, but also because of the removal of full versions of the game on physical media - as its a big move away from game ownership and towards digital landlord-ism. I think Nintendo have got it wrong this time. In essence, if you keep asking for more money for less product (and reduced longevity) there has to come a time when consumers will say "I'm out".

Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About 'Limited-Time' Games From Nintendo?

Absolute scalpers. Been paying for nintendo switch online for 2 years in hope of n64 and gamecube games. Despite that investment, getting them first requires another premium purchase. No thanks. What next? All zelda games in a "zelda all-stars" type premium package? Just get them on the switch online catalogue Nintendo!
