Re: Feature: A Long Journey Through Metroid Prime: Federation Force

A nice game, specially in multiplayer. Unfortunately the game was automatically rejected without giving it a chance. This game tried to expand the Metroid franchise in new directions.

Had people gave it a chance, and perhaps it would have grow to be Nintendo response to Halo and Call of Duty.

If I were Nintendo, I would release this game as is, only with HD graphics and perhaps slightly refined mech designs, on Switch as a free to play title. That will ensure that the coop potential is fully tapped, as everyone will have access to it. I bet that it would be a big success, and redeem itself. Otherwise this IP will probably remain sub-realized.

Re: Secret Of Mana Is Getting A 3D Remake, But Guess What Console It's Not Coming To

This was the most beautiful game of its time. By then the gameplay was decent, made specially interesting by local multiplayer. Local multiplayer was uncommon and very fresh at the time.

Today this gameplay is too bland, even with the multiplayer factor. To make justice to this classic, the gameplay should be improved. That will not happen. Although possible, they don't know how to do that. So much missed opportunity, unfortunately.

Still, the music, and simple 3d graphics looks very pretty to me. So this game is a pretty experience with relaxed gameplay.

As of why this is not on N Switch, in my opinion it is likely that it will be announced later. This game feels wrong on anything other than Nintendo.

Re: Dragon Quest XI and Nintendo Switch Lead the Way in Japanese Charts

izzffin

Interesting to observe the case of Crash. The game has been leading in western charts. In UK have been the top game for various weeks. In Japan is barely registered.

I think the main reason is the game art. According to my explanation, the characters are unappealing to Japanese consumers. Meanwhile UK gamers find the character funny. I personally, a western with Japanese tastes, find the characters repulsive. Can't stand to even try the game.

The gameplay is swallow, according to what I have read. Why the game succeeds in the west then? I think that the people buying, got attached in the PS1 days, when there were lesser expectations about gameplay. Or some just want simple game mechanics, with what they perceive as fun graphics. On the other hand, Japanese gamers disliked the graphics from the beginning, and never got attached to the game.

What I would like to ask, to all these people buying this game on the West is, haven't you ever played Mario? it is like 1000x better! How can someone play this game after playing a few Marios? This is something that I don't understand well.

That is my perception of what is happening with this game.

Re: Video: Check Out Cordelia's Sweeping Moves in Fire Emblem Warriors

What a pretty anime face. Aesthetics aside, this could be for me the best of all the Koei Tecmo "warriors" games. Fire emblem franchise fits perfectly.

That said, I remember an NPC character in one Fire Emblem game, that said something about being tired of so much war. And I agree. I think that developers should try to find creative ways to accommodate action gameplay, other than plain old massive war. Splatoon and Arms are a couple of good examples. And that is another of the reasons why Nintendo is the best videogames company.

Re: Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2 Are Coming To Switch Later This Year

I for one am done with zombie games. So these are not for me. Although is good to see the switch getting mature content games, even if they are just ports of existing games. It is a start, to wait until the switch installed base gets large enough to justify original/newer games. Capcom has always been one of the best third parties for Nintendo.

I miss the days when Capcom was bolder, more willing to take risks, with more original games. The days of killer 7, RE 4, P.N.3, viewtiful Joe, etc. Unfortunately these risks with fresh games didn't pay off in the market. So Capcom became the afraid, sequel driven publisher of sparse budgets, that is now.

Capcom big thing now is Monster hunter World. They are aiming for the big sales number of the world market. Although it is not on Nintendo systems for now, maybe it comes later. Still I wish that MHW goes to sell beyond 20 million units, so Capcom can breathe. And then have a shot at saving the world, from dry, violent and tasteless western games like GTA, fifa and call of duty.

Look forward to more Capcom games on switch.

Re: Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age Heading to the West in 2018

The higher end version of this game looks so beautiful, that playing it on 3DS seems to me like a waste. I hope it goes to switch.

The switch needs this game as early as possible, to trigger a strong rpg market through the console lifespan, and to aspire to be the leading rpg platform.

Talking about switch rpgs, I am waiting for Square enix to release more info on octopath traveler.

Re: Capcom Reportedly Gearing Up for Multiple Nintendo Switch Titles

I don't care about ancient retro ports. Resident Evil, the franchise, has gone stalled. RE 6 was subpar, and way too more-of-the-same. Revelations 2 was also more of the same. Please no old resident evil ports. Those games have little replay value. RE 7, while original, was too dark and depressive for me.

Monster hunter is stalled too, at least for me. I would like Capcom to try something new. Maybe something similar to pokemon, but with a different concept. An rpg on a modern setting. The safe thing that they should do is port SFV, as the franchise already proved itself on switch.
