Re: Feature: The Biggest 3DS Games of 2012

Animal Crossing <3

I fell in love with this game series with Wild World, and it's true: It's near-perfect. I can't wait to play it and do whatever I want on my own town while listening these nice melodies :3

Re: Win a Metallic Red 3DS!

iPruch

If I win it, I will give it to a friend who does not have one and wants it. If not, I hope it'll go to someone who really wants it and doesn't have one yet.

Good luck everyone!

Re: 3DS Ambassador GBA Games Out Friday in Europe

iPruch

This selection is awesome! I've beaten Zelda Minish Cap, Fire Emblem Sacred Stones and Metroid Fusion many times, but I'm glad they included them in the bundle so that people who never played them will be able to taste such a good trio.

Oh, and that Wario Ware... think about how addictive it is. Moreover, this game is perfect for quick games and you'll never have to bring the cartridge with you anymore as it's digital format now!

Re: Gaze At This Beautiful Limited Edition Zelda 3DS Console

iPruch

Definitely, they hate early-adopters. I bought a blue 3DS at launch day, and same with Zelda OoT. If I had known of this bundle I could have waited since I only have Zelda OoT and Rayman 3D and I haven't played with the 3DS for several months... Oh, and paying 110€ more >.<

Well, I'm not really upset with Nintendo, but I wonder why they didn't release this bundle when Zelda OoT 3D was launched...

Re: Feature: Ten Years of Golden Sun

iPruch

Too bad that Nintendo underestimates this saga. The two GBA titles were matchless, magic, awesome, beautiful... and the DS one does it well, but lacks some crucial points like difficulty, and the fact that it arrived too late. They had us about 8 years waiting! I hope Nintendo starts considering and caring a bit more about Golden Sun or a new Golden-Sun-related series.

PS: That boxart is the best I've ever seen and I admire it like a true art masterpiece. And it brings me nice memories...

Re: Talking Point: The Second Circle Pad and the 3DS Evolution

iPruch

@Wheels2050: I prefer to play FPS on the PC with keyboard and mouse too, there is no better way to play FPS. And that's why I don't buy FPS for home or portable consoles (excluding some punctual cases, like Dementium or Metroid which is not exactly an first person shooter but a "first person adventure" or so, but the control does not differ much from typical FPS').

Apart from this, what I qualified of 'ridiculous' is not the preference of anyone who wants to play with two sticks, but the decision of Nintendo to not include a second stick from the beginning and release now a peripheral that will make our 3DS' uncomfortable and obsolete. Not to mention that this will probably culminate in a 3DS redesign in order to include the aforementioned second stick 'natively' because they didn't thought of it before. I would also qualify of 'ridiculous' that Capcom had created in their users the need of a second stick for controlling the camera in a series (Monster Hunter) which is third-person based where a good semi-automatic camera (anyone knows Zelda?) could overcome that 'problem'.

And hey! We are talking about PORTABLE gaming. Why everyone want's to do it so complicated? I always preferred portable consoles even to play at home because is so much more simple and comfortable, but now everyone want's an ultimate-PC like portable console no matter the size or the comfortability. If anyone want's to play with two sticks, with mouse and keyboard, with wheel and pedals or with an ultra good-looking screen and graphics, PC's and home consoles are what you are looking for. Want it portable? Sony likes this approach, so get a PSP or PS Vita, but don't pressure Nintendo to do crap addons and redesigns, because the jeopardized are the ones who bought the 3DS for what it was announced to be (and it was announced WITHOUT that second stick, and all the people who has 3DS and is blaming about this knew it, so It doesn't make sense).

Re: Talking Point: The Second Circle Pad and the 3DS Evolution

iPruch

I'll repeat what I said at this news article: http://3ds.nintendolife.com/news/2011/09/analogue_stick_add_on_for_3ds_revealed

"198 comments that possibly wouldn't be here if Capcom tought of an automatic and useful camera (well programmed, of course) for the Monster Hunter series. I also wonder why is so important to have a stick with the only purpose of moving the camera.

I haven't red any bad comment about Zelda's camera. Think about it: It's semi-automatic, it focuses from Link's back by pressing only a button and can be switched to first person and be moved with the gyroscope or the stick in order to explore or use some weapons/tools. And it works fine with no need of a second stick. Wind Waker and Twilight Princess (GC version) had the option of moving the camera manually with the C-stick, but I've really never used it because the "targeting" was much more usefull and fast: Make Link look where you want to see -> Press and release the targeting button (and semi-automatic camera takes the control from here, but with the angle you want).

About the second stick addon... ridiculous. I've played some FPS games at Nintendo DS (KEEP AN EYE!!!) without any analogue stick, with a classic directional pad for moving and the touch screen for aiming and it's a million times better than playing a FPS with two sticks (I can't believe how this genre has spread over the home consoles with such an uncomfortable control)."

And I have to say It's not fair to compare this with Wii Motion Plus or DS Rumble Pack. First, Wii M+ is an addon for a controller (and Wiimote was designed with a port for connecting peripherals from the beginning) of a home console, and fits perfectly, nothing annoying. Second, the DS/Lite had a GBA port which could be used in order to connect peripherals (and we knew it also from the beginning, as with Wiimote), and the specific case of the DS Rumble Pack is nothing compared with that second stick for 3DS, because the DS Rumble Pack fit perfectly (not at DS Lite where it overhung like the GBA cartridges because the space reduction, but nothing unpractical).

I think that if they wanted 3DS to have two sticks, they must have included it from the beginning within the 3DS (not an addon). But I still defend that two sticks aren't necessary at all. It's ridiculous for me because of what I explained at the comment I've copied above. The worst of all this story is that Nintendo seems not to understand anything, because the worst case is to make an unpractical and uncomfortable (and sadly necessary for some games because they probably won't include alternative controls) for a PORTABLE game system. A good portable system needs to have all-in-one packed, and if it has addons/peripherals it must be something the less annoying possible.

Oh, and I almost forgot to say it won't be free (special cases of packs with some games apart). That's another big negative integer.

Re: Analogue Stick Add-On for 3DS Revealed

iPruch

I can't understand why is so importan to have a second stick. I've been playing for 15 years with the traditional directional pad or a single stick (or two, but second not needed, or at least not for the camera that can be moved with the touch-screen or holding a button...) and I think this isn't that necessary to sell such a horrible addon (and unacceptable for a portable system).

Re: First Impressions: Sonic Generations

iPruch

Why, Sega, why? T_T

If they did such good physics at 16 bit consoles (one of the most impressive features of Sonic games, above all for a game of those days), why not now? I can't get it...

Re: Review: Solatorobo: Red the Hunter (DS)

iPruch

@ThomasBW84 - It's true that you don't need to play Tail Concerto before Solatorobo since their stories are separate and each one stands at its own. But seeing all these Tail Concerto references while playing Solatorobo are unpayable

@Mickeymac - At the back of the box I can read: "Namco Bandai Games Europe [...] Distributed by Nintendo of Europe", so I thought Nintendo made the translation since Namco Bandai is doing so badly at Europe (or at least at Spain: Almost every RPG I want from them arrives exclusively in English). I'm glad they are changing the way of doing things here (I hope they localize Tales of the Abyss).

@Henmii - I think it's wrong. From what I researched, I made sense of Little Tail Bronx being the universe where Tail Concerto and Solatorobo are in. Possibly, the third game does not exist and has been confused with "Mamoru-kun", a character created for a disasters prevention campaign in Japan. Here is an extract from wikipedia:

"According to an interview by Christian Nutt of GameSpy, CyberConnect2 is restricted from making a sequel by Bandai due to the relatively low sales. CyberConnect2 tried to pitch Tail Concerto 2 to Bandai in 2003 and 2004, but Bandai rejected the project because they believed the game wouldn't sell. However, the company did indirectly return to the world of Tail Concerto in 2005 when it designed the image character "Mamoru-kun" for Fukuoka Prefecture's disaster-warning email program of the same name. The promotional materials for the program reveal that Mamoru-kun and his friends live in the country of "Nipon," which, along with Tail Concerto's Prairie Kingdom, is part of a larger world called "Little Tail Bronx."

Re: Review: Solatorobo: Red the Hunter (DS)

It's impressive that NoE brought this game here. I mean, It's so public-specific (furry + mechas) and looks totally "Only for Japan". NoE are doing a very good job lately and I'm very greatful. Also, I have to say the localization is really well-done, as every game Nintendo localizes.

Love this game, love it's art-direction, love the characters, love it's 60fps (my eyes told me xD I'm not sure, but is the most smooth DS game I have of 50 or so), and love all Tail Concerto's cameos/Easter eggs (nothing about this game was mentioned at the review... I recommend it to all of you!).

CyberConnect2 is now one of my favourite developers!

Edit: What's the problem with furry? I think it makes characters nicer :3

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles Bundle Pack is Beautiful

iPruch

Oh, and I really hope USA gets the game too.

I don't understand why Nintendo would miss an opportunity like this game or The Last Story. If this is their concept of "attracting again hardcore gamers", I'd must say I'm a bit disappointed with Nintendo, and it hurts for a Nintendo fan...

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles Bundle Pack is Beautiful

iPruch

Sweet =D

This is the first time I'm glad to be european (in terms of videogames).

I want this game so much! It looks very epic, long and unforgettable. And I miss feeling something like this after playing a videogame.

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 Due "In the Near Future"

iPruch

I think classic Sonic's mode of Sonic Generations is what Sonic 4 must have been:

  • Classic Sonic's look (why don't you understand this point, SEGA?)
  • Classic gameplay and better physics (although Sonic Generations' doesn't seem to be as good as Genesis ones).
  • A physical-format and more complete game (Nintendo did it with New Super Mario Bros. and it was such a success).
  • If they still think of digital-distributing, cheaper chapters and not 1-year-waiting periods between chapters.

Re: Iwata Talks Wii U Voice Chat and Social Networking

iPruch

Nintendo, you have a very good example of how online features could be almost perfect: Steam's friends system. Simple, easy and with opportunities. Managing friends, chating or talking, joining to their games, showing/seeing your/their collection, statistics and achievements... Why not?

I hope they are thinking also in 3DS. It needs a chat, since the friends system is useless if you need MSN or any kind of instant message service in order to meet friends and invite them to play online.

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (3DS)

iPruch

I think it does not deserve a 10/10. A well-done REMAKE would, but not this remastered version. But this does not mean is a bad game, in fact is very funny and it offers this "Zelda-magic" touch that no other game could, but I would give it a 9/10 because it could be much better with the 3DS capabilities.

Re: These DSiWare Games Cannot Be Moved to 3DS

iPruch

@30 I also thought some camera games wouldn't be transerable, although 3DS has a frontal camera it isn't exactly at same position, and those games that recognises your face probabily wouldn't work properly. But hey, I suposse I was mistaken, and thats good in this case =)

And for those all who are complaining about Flipnote Studio being in this list, Nintendo said recently that a new Flipnote Studio kind program was being programmed for 3DS, so don't be worried for now.

Re: Ubisoft Boss Praises Project Cafe, Foresees Sales Success

iPruch

Incredible... They doesn't even hide their real thougths and oportunistic creepy-ports copy&paste 99% (the 1% remaining is not for added content, but for new bugs and inexplicable removes).

Can't believe this company was the one which made the original Rayman...

Re: Super Mario 3D to Use 3DS Gyro Sensor

iPruch

Super Mario Galaxy hadn't a second stick for the camera and nobody talked about it. Only a few games have such a good camera that the player forgets it, and that's what players should be worried about, not the lack of a second stick in order to "fight" the bad-programmed camera.

Re: Rodea the Sky Soldier Flying to Wii and 3DS

iPruch

Amazing I wanna know more! I suposse each version will have its unique features (I guess Wii version will use the Wiimote, and 3DS version will fancy these 3D graphics). If I had to choose one I think 3DS version would be the one... It's unavoidable, I mean, the 3DS "hype" =P

Re: Why the 3DS Will Not Use an Achievement System

iPruch

Games like Super Smash Bros Brawl had their own achievemenst system and that was nice because each achievement reward was not the achievement itself: There were stages, trophies, music tracks and this kind of real awards.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption had its own achievement system too, but achievements were unlocked as a surprise, because there was not any listing telling you what to do in order to get these achievements (so, not spoiling you). Besides it had a real reward and not only having the achievements itself.

But I can't imagine a Zelda game with achievements. This game is already enough rewarding by doing all those side quests that a Zelda game uses to have, and I wouldn't like to be spoiled with an achievement system telling me what to do in order to get nothing but a "done" at an artificial list.

I like Steam's achievements system, but TF2, HL2, Portal, CS:S, L4D or DoD:S are generally multiplayer games or single player games which experiment an improve with achievements, challenging you to do more difficult things and extending the game's life. But I think 3DS does not need an achievement system. If any game has its own (as SSBB or MP3), it's wellcome. But not every game needs it.
