Sakurai's philosophy is built on the incredible replayability of his games. There might be 100 stages in Smash Ultimate but you could keep playing only Battlefield (or Battlefield versions of any stage) for an eternity and still get a new experience every time.
Likewise, no two City Trial games are ever the same. I suppose on the Battlefield topic you could possibly make the argument for having the same map with different biome flavors, but even then I don't think it's very necessary or worth the time & effort needed to do so. I've played 17 hours of the game so far and City Trial has not even begun to grow remotely stale. Perhaps I'll have a different opinion at hour 50 or 100, but upwards of 20 hours in (and City Trial being the mode I've played the most no question), City Trial is remarkably replayable and I haven't even given thought to wanting another map.
Air Riders truthfully feels more loaded with content than some games with technically three times its content feel. We need more games like this.
I honestly don't think Three Houses' story is all that & a stick of butter. It's not bad by any means & it's fairly interesting but it's just not nearly as captivating to me as Awakening's was, and in some ways I even found it to be a bit campy (in an eye-roll kinda way for me, less of a charming "campy"). But I might be missing something because the truth is I played one story route, it took nearly 60 hours, and then they expected me to go back and do that two more times to get the full story. I wasn't going to do that. So I read up on the story of the other two.
So I bet my experience was a little tainted as a result. But even then, I'm not a big fan of a single game trying to ask that much time of me to tell the full story. So of the games I've played (I haven't played Path of Radiance), Awakening is by far the most cohesive, engaging, & memorable narrative, in my opinion.
@NinChocolate I assume you've heard of Console Wars (or perhaps someone else in the comments has mentioned it)? It's focused on exactly what you think it is, but I think more of the focus is on Tom & his team than on Nintendo. There's a lot of fantastic information in that book from his side of the story.

Re: Talking Point: What Do We Actually Want From 'Mario Kart 9'?
Double Dash mode. I want Double Dash mode. That's the tweet.
Re: Top 100 Best Nintendo Games Of All Time
You all should be ashamed of yourselves for putting Double Dash & Mario 64 that low on the list.

Re: Poll: What's The Best Mario Kart Game?
Double Dash without question. Not even close. MK8 is like a distant second.
