Or just make a “peasant edition” who just want a physical game and keep the special editions for the people who just like getting the deluxe/ best versions of things. The quality of special edition releases shouldn’t suffer just because some John Doe can’t afford the Gold Edition.
@Smashfan508 Diverse games are kind of useless when you're too fat and unhealthy to do more than sit in a chair. At least someone cares about your health.
I actually appreciate the Pokemon Company and Nintendo in general for trying to better the community with things like Pokemon GO/Smile and the Jump Rope game. It's a nice touch that is probably wasted on the majority of ”gamers”, but it's an important mission.
@Heavyarms55 An iPhone SE is like 8 bucks a month and most carriers regularly have either free with porting a number promotions or buy one get one. It’s not like it’s that expensive to upgrade your phone every now and then.
@Heavyarms55 I’d argue they take bad pictures just fine, but 5 years is an acceptable time to drop support for a device. No developer want to support some decrepit phone that can barely run the things they envision. Especially something like Pokémon GO that uses AR and 3D heavy graphics. I’d happily let them axe older devices if I get a better experience and new features.
The only time I buy physical now is if there’s a special edition that looks really nice, and even then I prefer not to use the cart. Axe that thing and put in a 1 TB NVME drive to usher us into our glorious anarchy!
@Heavyarms55 Have you ever taken a photo with a modern smartphone? The quality difference alone makes upgrading worth it. And I think dumping phones from 2014 is pretty reasonable. At this point you can get a good phone for $300 outright, so it’s not like it’s that big of an expense to just upgrade every now and then.
@SwitchVogel I do color guard, so those “marginal” camera and performance improvements have me upgrading my iPhone every year. You only get one chance to take an amazing photo or video, and I don’t exactly want it to look like 2015 smartphone.
I’d rather do an Apple Arcade style on the Switch where I could pay like 30 bucks a month for a rotating selection of Nintendo Selects style games, but I’d honestly do both. Especially in these times, I’d rather have a “derivative” Mario or Dragalia Lost when I can’t play my Switch than Bottle Flipper 2020 edition.

Re: Talking Point: New Pokémon Snap Was The Crowd-Pleaser, But Pokémon Smile Is The Franchise's Most Cunning Play Yet
@Smashfan508 I didn’t mean me😅 I just got done working out. I meant “gamers” in general. A sedentary lifestyle isn't exactly great for your health.
