@arekdougy The game is totally playable skipping the school/support conversations. You can play it like the GBA games, outside of some short forced fetch quests. You are missing out sir.

@Isenlia But you didn't find most of the cast in Engage obnoxious? Interesting....

@heisnbrg 3 Houses has like 2 romance parts in the entire game. Other than that it's mostly the same anime cringe (the bad, cliche anime writing) like every FE game from Awakening onward.

@Aurumonado I don't understand why people in this thread say the maps in 3 houses aren't good. What's so bad about them? How are they any worse than any other FE game? Y'all keep saying "maps bad" with no reasoning. Only thing I can think of is you're too dumb to want to use your brain or something. As someone who gone through all 4 routes in 3 Houses and Engage, I think they both have good maps, but I give the edge to 3 Houses because some of the map gimmicks in Engage were not fun or 1 map only, like the map designed around Ike's smashing of obstacles on the map.

@AtlanteanMan there was social simulator stuff starting with Awakening, don't blame 3 Houses for that.

@LikelySatan Really? Outside of Persona, what other games are you referring to? This isn't common in games at all, but it sure is in anime...

@Ace-Lucario in Engage party members are quickly replaced by characters with much better stats. People dying is no big deal and outside of support conversations, they have little role in the story. I recommend giving it another go if you can.

@Rykdrew Only if you want it to be chessmaster. If you force yourself to spend 80% of your play time in the monastery, that's a you problem. Funny that a guy that likes chess can't figure out an efficient a game...

@SpoonySpoons It's about the publication, less so about cultural differences. Not sure if all Japanese review outlets are like them, but gaming is so big in Japan that you might have to accept bribes to drive sales with exclusive content from publishers. They gave that crappy, universally panned Resident Evil PVP shooter a 9/10 too.

@The-Chosen-one They accept bribes. Like putting a reviewer in the game as a character is one example.

@LastFootnote Agreed it feels very bare bones. Like super low budget. The 3DS remake of DWM2 is far better and is almost a decade old...

@GooseLoose1 Famitsu accepts bribes so their reviews should not be taken seriously.
