@Spudtendo Only that in Ruby and Sapphire you could still transfer the Pokemon and you would still get the National Dex later on. The game had the data in it for the other Pokemon. This game doesn't have any data programmed for the missing Pokemon so even if newer games come out that have some of them, you won't be able to transfer them to Sword and Shield because those Pokemon don't exist in the game.
I've played every Pokemon main game and this might be the first one I'm very conflicted about.
I already preordered it because I'm reaaaaaaaaaaally hoping that it's just us fans exaggerating and I really hope that the damn Pokedex cut is worth it, although I'm pretty sure it isn't. Literally none of my favorite Pokemon are in the game. I'm on the side of the fanbase that is criticizing Gamefreak (minus the death threats, that's just too much), but I'm still getting the game because I want to have hope in Gamefreak. So far the only feature I'm looking forward to is...the character customization. Only like 3-4 new Pokemon got my attention and the others are kind of meh to me.
The thing I'm sad the most about is that Gamefreak doesn't seem to give a crap and that I'm 80% sure that this game will sell very well, which will cause Gamefreak to ignore fans even more. I'm a big Pokemon fan and I want to have hope in Gamefreak, but I think what they did this time was too much: cutting the Pokedex and delivering empty messages and lies to the Pokemon fanbase. I was never one to care about Pokemon's graphics (I really like them to be honest, I don't need Read Dead Redemption 2 graphics to enjoy a game), so the most part of my issue with this is just the reduction of the National Dex and their attitude towards the fanbase. If they included 500-600 Pokemon and if they would've been more...how do I say it...if they would've showed the fanbase that they actually cared about their oppinion, thinks wouldn't have gone this far. Just my two cents.
@BakaKnight I already finished the game and yeah, this review is just pure hate. The game is good, not AAA good, but still pretty good, especially if you're into these type of games.
Damn, you guys always hate on anime games, unless they have Nintendo slapped on them or are from bigger companies. This review is just trashing because the reviewer doesn't like the genre. And this is why, gentlemen, I never look at reviews when I'm buying my games. My game library would be 1/3 of what it is now if I were to listen to reviewers.
It's not a Nintendo game or a crappy indie so it gets a low score. Damn. Nintendo Life really hates anime games. This is the reason why I never listen to reviewers.
@HikaruKitsune If that doesn't make it ok, then the "chill out dude, the whole city that I murdered in GTA and all those 1000 hookers I humped aren't real, it's just a game" shouldn't be ok either. Just double standards that people have because they have something against anime. Make anything that has similarities, but is western and everyone will find a reason to say that it's okay, be it because it's popular or because it makes tons of money.
@nessisonett So this game is bad but other games which promote murder, terrorism, prostitution, sex and more aren't? This is something I dislike, double-standards on games. Let's pick on games because they're anime games, but not pick on games that have a lot more bad content in it, because the mainstream people buy them and the big companies make the $$$. Either ban all of then or leave them there and each person plays whatever they want.
Didn't know that the release date for it was so close It's a day one buy for me, as I love anime games. No problem if Sony censors them, I'll gladly welcome the uncensored versions on Switch.
@jly1987 Graphis are not everything, buddy. Although I do know a lot of westerns consider it to be like that. I have a gaming PC and a Switch and if a game comes out on both platforms, I prefer buying it on Switch. Why? Because I value the portability. Isn't it wonderful that you can take your favorite games on the go? And that surely matters more for me than staying glued to my PC because I can't play a game when I need to change location. And about PS4 games...I'm in the minority but those kind of games that are "graphic eye candy" don't appeal to me anymore. They used to, long time ago. Now I mostly go with games that are fun and also let me be flexible. I used to play a lot on PC, I used to be part of the "PC Master race, consoles suck" club, but the Switch changed my perspective on gaming. The console adapts to my needs and I don't need to adapt to the console instead. That's the magic of the Switch. A PC will run any game better than a PS4 and Xbox can, but I don't give a damn about that anymore. I can game anywhere I want now. But I do respect other people's ways of gaming, if they aren't haters about it.
Oh no, Nintendo is doomed! ...for like, the 10000th time in the last 2 years? Can't wait for next year when the Switch's selling numbers will still be good, but people will still continue to say that Nintendo is doomed. And the year after that. And then the year after that...and so on. Haters gonna hate i guess.
Yeah, it's a hate review alright. This is why I only buy games based on my perception of it and never listen to what reviewers say. Bought the japanese version and all the DLCs when they came out and the game is fun. Sure, it's not for everyone, but how about not giving it a bad score based on what genre the game is? It's a different approach to the Senran Kagura series, it's basically more visual novel-like and it's based on massage minigames. I found all the character scenarios funny as hell and I liked getting new outfits, dressing the characters, posing them and making screenshots. Also the character reactions during touch-parts before the massage minigames are damn cute. Okay, it's not perfect, but then again, which game is? It's all in our mind and our perception. I'd give it at least a 7/10.
Now if only we'd get the main games too, that'd be great, but I know I'm hoping for too much
