Am I missing something when I think that FE game will be fine despite the poor sales this week? It only spent two days on store shelves before the sales week ended. Though 24,000 copies could still be abysmal for 2 days, I don't know
@rob955 it's absence from E3 is sad but I noticed that it has yet to receive a release date in the US, which is weird considering Japan, Europe, Australia and New Zealand get the game in August. My guess is that NoA doesn't have much faith in the game/it doesn't suit their stupid overly family friendly persona.
Super Mystery Dungeon will probably be the only Pokemon game at E3 this year but a Wii U port of Pokken Tournament would be awesome (yet it hasn't even been released in Japanese arcades so unlikely). For the sake of VGC, I would appreciate a new main series Pokemon game but I wouldn't mind if they gave it a break for the year as releasing a game next year would extend the 3DS' lifespan. As for other console games, I really hate it when people talk about a console main series game, it really proves how they aren't in tune with what "true" Pokemon fans want. Pokemon caters to a divided fan based of competitive players and casual players who prefer the portability of the game as "socialising" is huge with Pokemon (similar to Monster Hunter). You have to remember that the main point of the game is to battle and trade with each other, it's simply best suited for a handheld console and Game Freak has said this multiple times. I do, however, support the idea of a spin off console RPG, similar to the GameCube games, those were awesome.
I don't know how people can complain about this, Hyrule Warriors isn't canon so Koei Tecmo have the artistic freedom to do whatever they want with it not impacting on the official timeline in the slightest. Also, I wouldn't really call this gender-bending, we aren't necessarily dealing with the same Link every game, there have been quite a few throughout the timeline. It is possible for one of the descendants within the triforce of courage line to be female. Yes, I am aware that Link has always been male from day one which might constitute gender-bending, but again I don't see why this is a problem. I think a female Link would be awesome btw
@ikki5 it's $30 and the fact that you see it as waste of money just shows that you simply don't understand why people want it. First of all, the competitive community refuses to use anything besides a GC, so it's necessary to have an adapter. Even moving away from the competitive community, nostalgia also plays a part. My friends and I are quite bad at the game but for some reason we refuse to use anything but a GC controller. It just feels right. I totally agree with you though, I do feel like the adapter should be compatible with other games, it could easily act as a "classic controller".
I don't see why people are complaining about pokebank, I guess it wasn't made for some people. I use it a lot to store Pokemon and also to transfer them between my Y and AS. It's only $5 and perhaps this is a reward for those like myself that have been making use of their subscription.
Nintendo...stop trying to market your products to people that aren't interested and start marketing your products to us loyal and hardcore fans. All I want are games, I want to play SSB already and I most definitely can't wait to play Zelda in glorious 1080p! Please deliver Nintendo!
So I am guessing this US only? Nintendo really have to find a way to make things more equal between the regions, Australian fans have been suffering for years, we may not be a big market but we are still entitled to a regularly updated club nintendo! Perhaps it's Nintendo of Australia's fault :/
This is not that related to the article but I wouldn't mind a more mature Zelda with a darker style, sort of like MM and TP but that's just me. That said, I think if Pokemon or Mario went into a more violent direction, it would alienate fans. But series like Zelda, Metroid, Fire Emblem and Star Fox definitely have the capacity to have more mature themes, in fact they have in the past. I know the majority of the Nintendo fanbase likes family oriented games but this is an older life long Nintendo fan that craves for a Nintendo series like Zelda to explore darker themes like it has before but on a wider scale.
@ScroogeMcLz yes....that was my point exactly but I was trying to say that there is a fine line between voicing an opposing opinion and just downright ganging up on someone.
@KingH3nrry haha I'm just a gaming fanboy in general that loves all the consoles so my opinions sometimes get criticised on this website too, I feel you bro
@KingH3nrry you don't care about X&Y or the 3DS???? Wow first time I have ever heard that but I guess people are entitled to their opinions. It's also funny how someone would prefer a spin off to the main series :/ But that said, I do hope it's related to the Wii U, I feel like they are announcing a bit too much about X&Y and I would prefer it if I found out about the secrets of the game myself
So some blogger and apple fanboy thinks Nintendo has no future because it doesn't reach out to children? I think I would prefer Nintendo to stop making games than make game for ios .....
Nintendo of UK is awesome, meanwhile in Australia -_- I should really stop complaining about Nintendo of Australia, at least they provided X&Y 3ds consoles I guess :/
@unrandomsam for your information the series seems to be loved by ALL ages, I am a member of my Pokemon Society at my UNIVERSITY that boasts over 600 members!!!! What do you say about that? Also at the VGC this year, the adults grossly outnumbered the children, so I don't know where you got that idea from.
I don't mind paying for a service that is worthwhile and useful, I hope they add other benefits to it besides storage and transferring pokemin from gen 5. It would be nice if they rewarded those who pay for the service with an exclusive pokemon now and then. Paying around $5 for it? If you can afford a 3DS, Pokemon X or Y, in fact even the computer/other device and internet connection that you using, then surely you can afford another measly $5! I personally think it is an attractive service for those like me that love to breed pokemon and battle competitively.
Charizard still kinda sucks, damn even though it looks awesome I am going to go for Bulbasaur for multiple reasons - I am using Fennekin, it's dual poison/grass (fairy is apparently weak to poison) and it's mega evolution seems really useful - increased spdef and def + thick fat = mega tank
All of this negativity about how the game should be a wii u exclusive, I know Ubisoft made it multiplatform because of money but have any of you considered that there are many Rayman fans that would have wanted to play the game but didn't have a wii u? I doubt there would have been a lot of people who would have bought a wii u just for a third party game.....
@Marshi yeah great points, unfortunately for Nintendo, they missed out on selling me a Wii U as in Australia there has been no indication of a price cut or a wind waker bundle, so it sucks to be a Nintendo fan in Australia
@Marshi Killzone 3 came out in 2011 and my brother, myself and thousands of other people still play it. So I am guessing Shadow Fall will alos be played for a long time? While the launch line ups are weak compared what Nintendo is offering this holiday, it is not fair to compare launch line ups to an existing consoles line up :S and besides none of the upcoming games on Wii U don't even excite me, even the price cut doesn't. What does is an original Zelda game, SSB and Project X, until then Nintendo can keep their Mario games. Looks like it will be a very 3DS and PS3 orientated holiday for me......
@Wowfunhappy are you insane? you would prefer longer load times than an install?? To me installing is good and I don't mind waiting that long time to install because at the end of the say it is just ONE install. Playing the Last of Us or Uncharted 3 on my PS3, the install took forever, roughly about 20-40 minutes (can't really remember) but after that the load times are essentially non-existent. Aside from the initial start up load which takes around 5 minutes or so, there are basically no other load times once you start playing. So in conclusion, I think if you experienced the difference, you wouldn't make such a comment.
I will definitely get a PS4 when it comes out, my brother and I are looking forward to it. I am also upset about the Vita price cut because I bought one a few months ago I am tempted to get a Wii U too so I can relive Wind Waker and play a Monster Hunter with proper online capabilities but then I don't know if I can really put all this time towards these consoles when I know I will be playing X&Y and ALBW more than others. Plus KH: HD and FF X HD......
I wonder how many of these cheaters were people that hacked "legal" pokemon, as in the proper EV distribution and a legal moveset. I personally, don't care if people make their pokemon as long as it is legal. I don't do it, I rather like breeding and I can produce near perfect ones and I battle a lot of people that make their pokemon on programs and it doesn't seem like they have an unfair advantage over me.
I can't imagine how many consoles Nintendo will sell when X&Y comes out, so many of my friends are already buying 3DS' in preparation for its release and I know many people who are waiting until october. I can't wait until ALBTW and X&Y comes out!
I still don't know which version to get :S I wish that the rest of the world would get these pre-order bonuses, all I can get right now is a pokeball cartridge holder :/
if the guy invented the technology fair enough he deserves to be credited and paid (I haven't followed the story so I am not totally sure if he invented it ), I just find it funny how the worst thing about the 3DS is costing Nintendo dearly
@Doma sorry I wasn't clear in what I said What I meant to say was: While Awakening attracted a lot of new fans to the series, Nintendo would have to wait until the Wii U starts selling if they want to see those sort of sales figures
In all honesty I never buy third party games on my Nintendo consoles (unless they are exclusives) so he is right in a way, next gen I will use the Wii U for Nintendo exclusives only and PS4 for everything else.
I want Rare to relive their glory days and make another beautiful game!!! They can bounce back from such hardships, I mean look at Naughty Dog, they lost Crash Bandicoot and then they went on to make Uncharted and The Last of Us. I am just glad that Nintendo likes to keep integrity with all of their franchises, I wonder what would happen if Game Freak tried to break away from Nintendo :/
I honestly thought Nintendo could have done better, SSB and Pokemon X&Y were the highlights with X also being interesting. Other than that, I found it kind of boring in between. This is just my opinion by the way, I am sure a lot of people enjoyed it more than me. I don't think it's fair to compare Nintendo to Sony or Microsoft, they really target a different market altogether. I go to Nintendo for games like Pokemon and Zelda, I got to Sony and Microsoft for everything else. Though, I might not get an Xbox One this time around, I might just stick with Wii U and PS4
I think the real problem is the fact that the Wii U is difficult to develop for. Third parties don't want to work with old hardware and they definitely don't want to waste money working with the gamepad. Nintendo has to pull their socks up and just hire more people, surely making a HD game (which is a lame excuse) can't be that hard, after all Microsoft and Sony have managed for what? 6 or so years? And I know they have massive third party support unlike Nintendo.......
I want Nintendo to go back to their N64 and GC days and just make a powerful console with normal controllers that is easy to develop for. I would also like Nintendo to consider creating a few new studio's, possibly a western one. They do not only need new first party titles but they need to branch out into other genres and possibly some more mature games. Monolith is the only studio that has the right idea so far....

The Treehouse segments were well done, after watching the Fatal Frame footage, I'm completely sold on that game!

@RupeeClock I don't think that ever happened, you cannot use sheer force feraligatr online, therefore it was never officially released :/
Please provide proof if it has been distributed because all of my research points towards the Japanese distribution being false.
