Earlier this year, Nintendo replenished select stores across both Australia and New Zealand with fresh but limited quantities of amiibo stock.
Following this move, Nintendo Australia has now revealed the in demand official GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U will soon be available again at select retailers for AU$29.95, with a warning availability dates will vary between stores.
Prior to this announcement, the only way fans were able to use GameCube controllers in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U if they missed the adapter on release was to settle with third party devices, or pay for higher priced official ones online.
Let us know in the comments if you're excited about this new adapter stock, or if you were lucky enough to acquire the popular accessory on release.

So good for Australian gamers. I live in Colombia South America and got mine back in december at the suggested price. Hope Ninty re stock for the whole planet!
I hate to say but.. this to me just seems like a waste... you need to spend like $40-$50 (not sure what it is in AUS) if you want to use it and you don't have the controllers... just to be able to play smash? Maybe if the controller could be used for more but... it can't so... why are so many people wanting this so bad...? Just seems like a huge waste of cash.
I will stick with my third party adapters
Seems slightly late. Eb games had been importing gamecube controllers and second party adapters but they seem to be mostly gone now. Surely youd want to have both official controllers and adapters on sale at once
Stupid thing is, most everyone remotely interested in this peripheral has already bought a Mayflash 4-port Wii-U adapter, with bonus PC mode...
@ikki5 it's $30 and the fact that you see it as waste of money just shows that you simply don't understand why people want it. First of all, the competitive community refuses to use anything besides a GC, so it's necessary to have an adapter. Even moving away from the competitive community, nostalgia also plays a part. My friends and I are quite bad at the game but for some reason we refuse to use anything but a GC controller. It just feels right. I totally agree with you though, I do feel like the adapter should be compatible with other games, it could easily act as a "classic controller".
Awesome! I assume EB Games will be first to stock it? ^_^
@ikki5 You can use it to play Gamecube games with Nintendont. That's the reason I bought it.
I broke down and ordered the Gameseek adapter from Amazon a couple of days ago and I should have it soon. Looks exactly like the Nintendo one and isn't far off the price at £19.99 so I'm covered.
@crobatman so... I guess it is $30 for the adapter and the controller? I thought it was more than that. But still, to spend $30 when you already dropped $60 on the game to me is just... such a waste... You're spending 50% more just so you can play one game because you refuse to use anything but something old...
@scamander
What gamecube games?
@ikki5 Almost all of them. As I said it works with "Nintendont", which is a homebrew program for the Wii U Wii mode to play Gamecube games on the Wii U. It supports the Gamecube adapter.

Why not restock it at ALL retailers and don't limit the stock!? Same for amiibo!
NEED THIS NOW!!!!!!
